  1. The Pirates have scored more runs than the Cubs.
  2. I hope we don't hover around my 'care' threshhold all season. Win or tank.
  3. I got home late last night and turned on comcast to see if I could see what the final score was. When I saw it was 0-0 in the 10th inning I couldn't stop laughing. Priceless.
  4. I just heard that the league is allowing the Cubs to use metal bats!
  5. nope. if a group of impatient cub fans who have never checked a minor league box score, let alone listened to a minor league game on the radio or watched one in person is ready to give their expert opinion on somebody they've seen throw 20 innings, then by golly, i'm on board. I agree. There is no reason to criticize Hill on any level whatsoever. Anyone who does so has no idea what they are talking about and probably didn't know Rich Hill existed until yesterday.
  6. Yeah, I agree. It's totally unreasonable to think that a minor leaguer could outproduce Pierre's blistering 665 OPS.
  7. It was a hilarious play and it was brought up in "Baseball Discussions." I don't see what the beef is.
  8. It's too early to write him off entirely, I agree. However, I think it's legitimate to have some concerns based on his big league performances.
  9. Interesting thing I just learned: Dusty Dvoracek had the highest Wonderlic score of anyone at the combine.
  10. Hill only walked 2 guys last night. That's because he went from Iowa to Arizona. He got much further away from Wrigley.
  11. I think that our main problem is that our team, at this point, isn't very good.
  12. Neifi Perez plays for this team.
  13. Pfff. Numbers don't tell the whole story. BUT HIS AVERAGE IS LOW! HE STINKS NOW!
  14. It's funny that sports radio/BBTN guys still say Barry is slumping. I wish someone in our lineup was slumping their way to a 1133 OPS.
  15. Not to get too excited about UDFA's but the ones we signed are pretty decent.
  16. He's slow (4.80) but he hits like a freaking truck. If you can speed him up and teach him some coverage skills, he may kill someone on the field. for instance http://media.putfile.com/Slay-Hit I'm not sure why I typed WR but I fixed it. Also
  17. Yes, I'm sure that's exactly why Wood is rehabbing in Arizona instead of Chicago. The pitching coach is in Chicago. The trainer is in Chicago. The GM is in Chicago. The Mgr. is in Chicago. The Cubs medical staff is in Chicago. There are towels at Wrigley Field. There are 3 mounds to throw off of at Wrigley Field. There is plenty of open land to throw long toss at Wrigley Field. DLee is injured and is back in the dugout...with the team. Stay away, Wood. I agree. Wood is the cancer and Arizona is the Chemotherapy.
  18. UDFA Signings: OT Mark LeVoir (Notre Dame) RB P.J. Pope (Bowling Green) OL Travis Leffew (Louisville) DE Mike Mendenhall (Temple) TE Tim Day (Oregon) :D PK Josh Huston (Ohio State) P Joel Stelly (Louisiana-Monroe) OG Tyler McMeans (Miami, FL.) TE Cooper Wallace (Auburn) S Dwayne Slay (Texas Tech) (Rumor)
  19. tampa bay? Is good. Not as good as Carolina. The AFC South is pretty competitive. I wouldn't count your chickens before they're hatched. Tampa Bay had the number one D in the NFL last year, Atlanta has a history of success against the Panthers, and the Saints added a TON of talent with Breese and Bush. The Panthers are the best team, but it's going to be a dog fight to come out of that division. Ummm....The defending NFC Champion, NFL MVP and the team that absolutely DOMINATED Carolina in the championship game might have something to say as to why no one mentioned them in this conversation. I mean really, the SAINTS? I can't wait for the Seahawks to go 13-3 again and watch all the critics look at each other and say Who is this team again? Hassellback (Best NFC WB rating last 2 years), Alexander (NFL MVP and TD record holder), Julien Peterson & Lofa Tatapu patroling the middle of the field, Grant Wistrom coming around the end and D Jack and Burleson going deep. BTW, they also drafted the best punter available. He is a guy that kicks 80 yard kickoffs  I think this might be a team to consider. They were talking about the NFC South, and the comment about making the NFC title game(as last year obviously proves) doesn't mean they've already gone through Carolina. Thanks, I was just talking about the NFC South.

  21. He gave them a B. He reacted positively to just about every move they made. He talked at length about Dusty, and seemed to like both DBs a lot. He really likes Angelo, it seems. Last year he gushed about the Bradley pick and gave us an A for the draft, as I recall.
  22. That's probably why people want the old Zambrano back.
