  1. I doubt the Rams will score much against the Bears. They are no longer the greatest show on turf. They have only scored more than 20 points once in the last 5 weeks (22 points @Sea). 3 of those games have been at home. The Bears D plays pretty well on turf too.
  2. I think that is true. A disastrous 1st half means Griese. And uneventful first half means more Rex. I agree. I think you're all simplifying it too much. If Rex has an uneventful first half, but no points are scored and we're down 0-14? I think you see Griese. I don't think this whole thing is keyed off turnovers. Rex must move the offense and put points up, especially if St. Louis can score. I'm not sure what the score has to do with anything. I also seriously doubt Rex will be having a good or average game if the Bears are losing 14-0 at half. If he is looking average, then the score will be more indicative of defensive play or other people on offense turning it over. If Rex looks bad in the first half, he's going to get pulled regardless of the score.
  3. I'd also like to point out that I don't think it's a coincidence that both of these performances came after a bad performance (Arizona for the 49ers, and the 1st half of the Giants game). I think that is why I have a slightly optimistic feeling about this game.

  5. This has inadvertently turned a lot longer than I intended. Honestly, if Rex doesn't have a good game tonight, he's likely a lost cause (for this season). If he can't have good games against terrible defenses, I shudder to think of what can and will happen in the playoffs. The Bears should be able to run all over the Rams. This is a really good opportunity to come out running the ball. They can then mix in the pass and it should be pretty effective if they maintain balance. Best case scenario is Rex getting comfortable on the intermediate passing throws again. At this point he needs to build confidence (despite what anyone says, his confidence is clearly and badly shaken). This may sound ridiculous and have no basis in any fact but I really think it would be better for Rex to have a game like 225 2td 0int, over some astronomical performance. I really think that some of Rex's early success has effected his development. Earlier in the year he was hitting the long bomb at will. These are very low percentage throws but he was completing them at a high rate. But now that the percentages are evening out, he refuses to abandon the bomb in large part because of how successful he was early in the season. I'm worried that if he get's a few more long bombs and has a huge game, then he might think that he has fixed the problem. However, the problem isn't as much his execution, but his selection. Here is a quote from FootballOutisders.com regarding Romo but also applies to Grossman: The bolded particularly struck me when reading this evaluation. Think back to the Bills game and the touchdown pass to Davis. Grossman back-pedaled away from the rush and unleashed a throw, off his back foot, through about a 2 foot window between two defenders, and hit Davis in the hands for a touchdown. It was a phenomenal play. It was also a terrible and very risky decision. I believe that success with plays like that made Rex think he can make them all the time. When these type of passes started falling incomplete and getting intercepted, he lost confidence. Now he is questioning his reads as well as his throws. As a result, we get the complete trainwreck we see today. I think that Rex's best games were against the 49ers and the 2nd half against the Giants. He really mixed the plays well and did an excellent job throwing accurately in intermediate routes. In all honesty, I have no idea what to expect tonight. I hope Rex figures it out because we he is on, the Bears are the best team in the NFL, IMO.
  6. If Rex throws 5 TD's, I think my head will explode in confusion.
  7. School is less important than Bears. Exactly my thought process tonight when I go watch the game in a bar during finals week. You have a bright future, sir.
  8. School is less important than Bears.
  9. Garay looked good in the preseason.
  10. Probably because there isn't very many good players. Why wait forever for some mythical cornacopia of flawless free agents that will all be availavle at reasonable prices? Seems pretty silly to me.
  11. The lines are too good.
  12. lolX2
  13. lol
  14. As long as we don't have to play the Steve Smith's, I'm cool.
  15. Cowboys are getting torched, man. Brees is the truth. See what I'm talking about with the offense? That was a sweet play.
  16. Should have been picked. GREAT PLAY BY ROMO!!!
  17. The reason I like the Saints is the way the run their offense. There is so much traditional crap in the NFL it's interesting to see someone mix things up. Payton is adjusting his offense based on personal and not vice versa.
  18. Glenn is very underrated.
  19. In other news, if the Bears had signed Brees this offseason they would have won every game by about 35 points. If if's and but's were candy and nuts....
  20. Romo looking terrible.
  21. Love the way NO runs its offense.
  22. He's fine.
  23. Drew is built like a fire hydrant.
  24. Drew is abusing the Colts. Abusing.
  25. Really?
