Growing up in Central Illinois, it seemed to be about 50% Cubs fans, 40% Cards fans, and 10% the rest. The 10% included the Sox. Nobody seems to care about the Sox in Bloomington-Normal. I must say that I like the White Sox. To me they are a Chicago team - so I like them. I do get really annoyed at the divisive Sox fans who come out of the woodworks during interleague play and openly trash the Cubs and their fans. They seem to hate the Cubs as much as they like the Sox if not more. It's the whole inferiority complex thing. I imagine it is similar in New York. I would bet the house that Yankees fans generally don't give a crap about the Mets, yet every Met fan in NYC is more concerned with hating the Yankees, then they are the Braves, Phillies, or Nationals. That said, the Sox fans and the Chicago Media created this rivalry between the Cubs and Sox. To me, I am glued to the t.v. when the Cubs-Cards are on. The Cubs-Sox on the other hand, that is for the southsiders. Anyway, this is the first year in about five that I won't be going to Busch for Cubs-Cards. My friend just had to pick Saturday for a wedding date. Idiot.
