  1. They are a horrible team but they've battled intra divisional teams. I'm suspicious. Again, this same bad team swept the Brewers the last time they faced them. wrong! this is nothing close to that 'bad team'. get a grip...
  2. the Cards JV team/ plus Pujols/ is just not good enough. sweep. get it done in Miami, boyz...
  3. hard to post when the Adverts crash Firefox AND Safari. wow. unbelievable...
  4. got 2 for Game 1. Sec. 205-3/ Row 21/ Seats 101, 102. had 10 tabs open, and hit within the first five minutes. selected 2 tix instead of trying for 4. pretty nice seats, i guess. http://www.seatdata.com/images/mlb_cubs/1024x768/205.jpg planning to go, but may have to give these up due to school. hmm, decisions, decisions. i will definately entertain offers, and am looking to make a sizeable profit if i do indeed sell. would like to see these go to a real fan here, instead of a broker. i will go the E-Bay route if no acceptable offer is made. pm if interested.
  5. thats a great point. i remember some of the cubs players already saying theyd love to have cuban as the owner. if they knew mlb screwed cuban, that couldnt work out well for the owners and mlb. But what would the repercussions be? Are the players going to strike if Cuban is muscled out? Are they going to hold a harder line during the next CB? Don't think so. Its all a PR standpoint, the players have no leverage in this situation because they won't do anything if they don't get their way and the league knows that. yeah theres really gonna be no repercussions. itll probably be just some bad feelings from the fans and players. and the league wont care about that in the first place. don't forget that there is this govermental body, chaired by Arlen Specter, called the SEC. Specter is on record as being in favor of revoking MLB's anti-trust exemption. additionally, the Tribune Co. owes a fiduciary responsibility to stockholders to maximize profits, which would include any sale of assets (the Cubs/ Wrigley). the Cubs are owned, and are being sold by a corporate entity, therefore, MLB's hands may very well be tied this time. MLB, Selig, and concerned lawyers are well aware of this fact. stay tuned. Cuban is fully in play, imho... EDIT: I misspoke. Specter is not the current chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission. However, Specter, and Senator John Kerry, remain interested by-standers, and influential players in this scenario. I'm not questioning you in any way, just looking for reason to feel more confident in your opinion, if anything, but the bolded sort of makes it sound like you know something. Are you somebody who knows something? Or are you just a guy who knows about this kind of stuff? Does what I'm asking make sense to anyone else? makes sense. and no, i have no inside info. just a bit of knowledge after studying law for the last 4 years. can a corporate specialist elaborate here? anyway, simply an observation, hopefully, a somewhat informed one. btw: one other point. any sale of a publicly held corporation must be approved by the SEC. all accounting must be in order (IRS). this will not be an easy sale, (either the Tribune, or their subsidiary, the Cubs), and Selig/ MLB cronies will not have free reign to do as they please, as some here seem to think. any experienced corporate lawyers care to comment?

  7. bats, bats, bats...
  8. But 4 might. yeah. 4 just might... picked!
  9. 3 runs will NOT win this game...
  10. Biggio, Berkman, Lee, Scott, Loretta, Wigginton and Ausmus are all in the Astros starting lineup today. Thats 7 of their 8 regulars. Did the Cardinals, Reds and Astros get pissed when we trotted out Theriot, Soto, Coats, etc last September. i stand corrected. who's pitching for the 'stros tonight?
  11. nice that the Astros are only playing rookies this series against the Brewers. there is a competition clause that is being violated here in a pennant chase...
  12. granny Estrada. 5-1 Crew...
  13. book it, dude. call Vegas...
  14. 3 runs will NOT win this game...
  15. how bad do you want to stay in first place?
  16. who's gonna get the first hit off this moke?
  17. in his defense, Z is getting nothing on the corners...
  18. first time ever i agree with Brenley. get Z the hell outta here...
  19. Same can be said for Lou regarding Z. It usually never ends well funny Z was given an 'extra day' last time out, and is now working on short rest. had Piniella just left the rotation alone, Z would now be on normal rest. Z looks like crap...
  20. where's the genious who argued that Dempster wasn't a 'gas can'?
