  1. http://www.cubworld.com/category/.wwa.jim_edmonds/ Yeah, that's not a jersey shirt The only Edmonds jersey shirts out there are the customized ones with the crappy white lettering.
  2. I hope not Ward is one of the top PHers out there. While he's having a down year with the bat, he's really patient which gets him into good counts or at the least gets him on base with a walk. The who does he replace? If we were to get either Giles or DeJesus, do we send Fontenot down? I surely hope not as he has been one of the best hitters over the last month. Do we release Edmonds? I hope not, since Edmonds when he's been able to play has still been pretty good for us. Reed Johnson? I still think we need the righty bat. Cedeno? Nope. He's the back-up SS. The logical answer is Ward would be gone. I like Ward for his role, but his limited ability defensively hampers us. If we replace Ward say with Giles, we have more parts to mix and match in the outfield without sacrificing defense. The only other option would be to keep Ward and go to an 11 man pitching staff for a month until rosters expand. In fact an outfield of Soriano, Fukudome, and Giles would look really good. With Johnson and Edmonds on the bench, we can pretty much give any outfielder a day off without sacrificing much production. Add to the fact that we could play DeRosa in the OF as well on days that either Fontenot or Cedeno play second, and we have a number of options. With Ward, he's good for one AB per game. I guess there's really no one to replace if not for Ward. [cliche]Sometimes the best trade is the one not made.[/cliche] With that cliche, are you suggesting the team would be better as constructed with Ward than it would be if Ward were replaced with Giles or DeJesus? I think Giles or DeJesus bring every bit of offense Ward can and they actually aren't a liability defensively. That's true It just seems so unfair to Ward to just sweep him out the door when he's been a solid player for us for the most part. That being said, we all know what the ultimate goal is, and anything to make the team better comes first, I suppose.

  4. Harden can be found: http://www.cubworld.com/product/HARDENPS/Rich_Harden_Chicago_Cubs_Name_and_Number_Blue_TShirt_by_Majestic_Athletic.html Edmonds is impossible to find, at least on the web I haven't seen Fontenot I have Ramirez, Z, and Soriano I'd go with ARAM, of course ;)

  6. Cuban in the lead: http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/31/cuban-said-to-lead-narrowed-list-of-cubs-bidders/ :beg:
  7. Is anyone else still recieving the MLB Extra Innings freeview even though it was supposed to end a week ago? Not complaining at all, just wondering.
  8. Wow, really interesting trade. I guess acquiring Marte cancels out the need for Farnsworth? Pretty odd, the Yanks pen isn't really that strong.
  9. Exactly... who do the Mariners think they are? F. Hernandez for Marquis plz!
  10. All that's missing is ManCrushOnNomar
  11. I can't even imagine what would happen if Hendry got Manny at the deadline
  12. The Cubs haven't done much against Parra at all - try 1 hit Hopefully Jimmy E's back in the lineup tonight EDIT: Parra's a LHP, so probably not I trust Dempster Go Cubs!

  16. Ugh, I guess Edmonds is still hurt hopefully it's not getting worse
  17. In the 6th inning? Cub fans have done it before. Remember when Soriano was on one of his red hot streaks against Pittsburgh? Had he at least gotten a hit in that game prior to the HR? If he's referring to the game I'm thinking of... then the HR was in the 7th, and it was his 4th hit and 2nd HR of the game - totally different than the Braun thing. Also, for someone who has bashed showboating before, I've basically accepted it. Aram, Soriano, Z, and Edmonds all do it on the Cubs. If they wanna show off, then so be it. There's probably a line and no one has really crossed it yet I don't think.
  18. They are impossible to find online, I've been looking for Vance, who wants to make it a half-shirt. :)
  19. Deadline is Thursday
  20. lol "The Cubs win round one" bitter much? Go Z tomorrow, crush Sheets!
