    Well, that just makes no sense. You got a 3B that needs to develop, a 1B that needs to develop, and the best pitchers in the rotation being old and on the decline. How can anyone say a team with a roster of Soto Rizzo Barney Castro Stewart Soriano Byrd DeJesus Dempster Zambrano Wells ??? ??? can complete? Even if they get Darvish, it's hard to see where the train is going.

    For a while MLBTV had archives of every game dating back to the beginning of the 2007 season. I kept telling myself that one day I'd go back and watch some highlights of 2008 (Cubs sweeping the Sox at Wrigley, the nine run comeback vs the Rockies, four game sweep in Milwaukee) but now I can't find any of them. I feel like Homer Simpson when he got to the mall after Mr. T had already left. :( The Rockies comeback is for sale on iTunes I believe. I have highlights of most of the big moments from 07-08 - if you want anything specific, let me know.

    If by immediately you mean 2-4 years, then yes Pick up Morales Sign Darvish Keep Garza Trade for Headley Deal Z (and others/cash) for Morrison Sell Soriano for prospects Trade Byrd for prospects Use prospects to trade for Upton You can have contingencies that involve people like Smoak or Sanchez or any number of people if you want. Just because they're not as simple to see, doesn't mean that trades are not going to happen. At this rate, it's hard to see even one of those things happening

    Why? Him going there would be a very good thing, second only to him coming here...but him coming here for what he would be going to there for isn't all that great, so I'm ok with scratching off option 1. The fact that they pull all kinds of money out of their ass and all of a sudden are favorites for every top FA doesn't bother you at all? Plus, I'm still not over 2003.

    I guess because he's played on some pretty bad teams and still drove in runs. Didn't realize how brutal he was in the field.

    unlikely to return to A's I've always liked this guy... solid power and RBI numbers... I know we don't exactly have room in the OF, but I think he'd be an upgrade over Byrd, definitely much more of a power threat... put him in RF with Jackson in center and Soriano in left. Go get Fielder/Pujols, trade for Headley and we get: Castro Barney Willingham Fielderjols Soto Soriano Headley Jackson P thoughts?
