Using Russell with 2 outs in the 7th and no one on base, and not pinch hitting Soriano or Hairston for Schierholtz have to be mentioned here. -
As bad as the pen was again, those DPs were really the difference.

Soriano/Castillo/Hairston should be batting at some point.

I know it's easy to say now, and Schierholtz has been good (and clutch) lately, but don't you use Hairston there? He hits a lot of fly balls, and is obviously much less apt to GIDP than a lefty vs. a LHP? Not as obvious a decision as the bullpen failures, but I think I would have send Hairston up.

Oh yes, because the come back victories have been so plentiful and the games blown by the bullpen have been so rare. I do like Rizzo going deep in the bottom half though, hopefully with a guy on base. Y'know, I'm starting to think you naming yourself after players slowly destroys them. Hmm... perhaps I should try "Yadier Fan"?
