  1. But why hasn't he talk to them yet? What's he waiting for?
  2. Hendry is weak minded. He is incapable of making a decision, sticking to it, and carrying it out. He was wishy washy on Baker all year, and now that he's finally gone, he doesn't have the balls to even speak of the rest of the staff. That's just absurd. Not only that but he's too emotionally involved, with players and coaches.
  3. Still hanging on to 2003. Jim get over it! It was three years ago...
  4. That's cool. But I just don't see where this thinking means it's inappropriate for others to express doubt in the team. I mean you can express doubt, but some of these posters are just ripping into everything and anything right now. One fan posted in transactions that he heard on the radio Macphail resigned. He prefaced it with saying he hadn't seen it posted, but thought it was interesting. The second poster had to make a point or rolling his eyes and being all sarcastic. Why are we all turning on each other and everything cubs related. We had a really bad year. It looks like a lot of the factors that went into that are leaving. Let's enjoy that if only for one day. That was me because I honestly thought he was joking. I mean there were plenty of threads saying MacPhail resigned.
  5. Dude give it a rest. Does every post have to be attacking the cubs? Yeah things are bad. But, hey thats why the allow trades and free agents. You really don't understand why there would be skepticism after this season? Yeah I do, but hey we all have said we need to clean house. Well in an hour two of three will be gone. They are at least doing what we all think needs to be done. Firing (or letting them walk) someone is the easiest thing a organzation can do. It requires no plan or thought process. It's what they do after is what counts, and I can honestly say I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling it'll be constructive in building a winner. It's just a opinion.
  6. I wouldn't be. You'll only be let down. Dude give it a rest. Does every post have to be attacking the cubs? Yeah things are bad. But, hey thats why the allow trades and free agents. Attacking the Cubs? I always thought I was the more positive posters on this board. And quite honestly what have the Cubs done to generate any postive posts?
  7. Having more money can't hurt.
  8. If this is true I do not understand the Francona thing at all. I'm not impressed with his knowledge of the game and if Hendry makes him the choice AND gives the Sox a very good prospect I'm going to go fishing a lot more in 2007 than I did in 2006. Isn't he and Dusty very similar? Might as well keep Dusty...
  9. I concur, the last two days I have felt way more upbeat. Now they need to do the right thing today and get Rammy resigned. Then lets get fixing. Right now it's just words. I've lost hope that Hendry nor the TRIB know how to win...
  10. I wouldn't be. You'll only be let down.
  11. Right! Why are our players looking at signs in the stands anyway? Just play the game and shut the hell up already.
  12. Way out of line. You could have stopped with good riddance. Referring to him as "human garbage" isn't welcome here.I agree that it's not appropriate, but why is it okay for people to call players "garbage" and "trash" on here all the time, but not the team president? Personally I don't like to read that either. I think it shows a lack of imagination and lowers the IQ of the board. That being said, let's try to stay on the Baker thing for the rest of the thread and if you want to write more about this please just start a thread in rants about it. Thank you. I don't have a problem reading somebody is a garbage player. But I don't think there is much justification for calling any of them human garbage. There is a difference. That's a bold claim. You can backup calling a player garbage by showing his stats. You can't backup calling him human garbage without sufficient evidence, like documented wife beating, drug dealing, child molesting and so on. It's his opinion and he's speaking his mind. Are we really going to police the different definitions of garbage? It's kinda silly isn't it?
  13. I disagree strongly. Tribune wants to win! Why wouldn't they? If you win it's a money windfall. They just don't have a clue how to win. Yep. Winning brings a boatload of revenue. Corporate committees like revenue. heck, look no futher then the W.Sox raising their payroll to around 105...
  14. I disagree strongly. Tribune wants to win! Why wouldn't they? If you win it's a money windfall. They just don't have a clue how to win.
  15. Really I didn't hear about that!
  16. I'm surprised that nobody commented on this part. I guess I'll be the first. Just say no to Lou Piniella. Two or three years in Chicago? I hope not. I heard Bruce Levine just laugh at the Trey Hillman thing. He said management of the Cubs never heard of this guy...
  17. I'm afraid that announcement will come literally seconds after announcing Dusty wont be back. I deserve a honeymoon period, damnit. I've been unhappy since May... just give me a couple weeks of unbridled optimism already. Since May of when 2004?
  18. No, horse crap was how your team played this year...
  19. I have a feeling Hendry is gonna do some big things this off season....knowing his job is in serious jeopardy. Don't count on it.
  20. It also looks like Fredi Gonzalez is off the books. Looks like he will take the job in Florida. So much exploring your options...
  21. What the chances they up the team salary to 115-120?
  22. Nah, that would just negate what just happened. Dusty gone tomorrow.
  23. I saw those this morning and made me feel better. Also, it looks like Pierre going to test the FA waters, which is always a good thing.
  24. I agree with the first line. One year deal only. Around the same amount of money he made this season. But the second line, who cares how he gets on base really. A .336 OBP isn't great, but it is far from terrible and about what he usually puts up. A .336 OBP for a leadoff guy is terrible!
