  1. But is it going to be consistent enough to dig themselves out of this hole?
  2. what is the Cubs record when Chris writes backwards in game threads? Just looking for someone to blame here.... I'm done with blaming...I'm looking something to hit! Can someone please volunteer their face?
  3. I don't want anyone getting a shot. I hate them all.
  4. My fear is Lilly, Hill, and Marquis have all performed a bit over their heads. Imagine if they regress just a little? It's a terrible thought.
  5. I'm with you, and they do play baseball the right way. I dream of a day when we play ball like that.
  6. Right - and when you combine being 6 games behind in April with the number of teams they would have to leapfrog to make it to first --> they've dug themselves a substantial, early hole. Of course there's time to make it back to the top of the standings, but it will take a correction of all problems I first described back in the original post. The part that sickens me is that it's only april and we have to go undefeated for a whole week just to get back to respectable. We really needed a fast start and we got just the opposite. It's going to take a ton of effort just to get back to .500.
  7. Good. Unless the Cubs can not pay him ace money, I don't want him. It's very strange, but I find myself more excited about the potential to trade Zambrano for some high-end prospects than anything else about the Cubs' season. The sad part about that is that they probably wont even attempt to trade him and he will walk at the end of the year with us having gotten nothing for him. :( Is a possible scenario that we trade Big Z by the deadline for 2 high prospects (either pitcher or fielder). Big Z doesn't like the team he gets traded to, realizes that he'd like a reprieve w/ the Cubs and we re-sign him. Can this happen? Has it happended before? ponson did it a few years back. can't think of anyone on z's level that has done it, though. Why would anyone trade for Z when they can get him for nothing after the season? He's surely not going to be signed by the Cubs with the sale pending. I find it highly likely that we get zilch for Z. Unless that said team is trying to make the playoffs and would need a pitcher like Z. Happens every year... Then it would have to be for prospects. No team is giving us someone like ARod or Cabrera at the deadline if they're trying to make the playoffs. Oh I agree. But you have to get something for Z. He's not going to re-sign if he goes FA next offseason. With the sale of the team going on signing FA's isn't going to happen..

  10. Cub fans will say they are lucky.
  11. At this rate, we'll be 10 under by next week. Yes, it seems that way. Well the bright side at least you can enjoy your summer sooner...
  12. My breaking point is falling 10 games under .500. Once we hit that we will free fall...
  13. Weather looks nasty...Hopefully we get a rainout. Heck, hopefully we'll get a rainouts until next spring.
  14. Let me get this straight. The NL Central is terrible and we can't beat anyone in the NL Central? That makes us...
  15. One more post this is funny... "Lou Preaches fun"! http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070424&content_id=1927862&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
  16. Okay Hill's night is done and so is mine. See you all tomorrow! CUBS SUCK!
  17. You are talking tomorrow right? We already lost tonight.
  18. I think there's a very good chance that even the youngest here will never witness a Cub WS. I'm 16 years old and I'm starting to have my doubts... That's what I said when I was 16. 16 years later I still have my doubts.
  19. Tip your cap to him. He's pitched a great game.
  20. It's amazing the confidence other teams have when beating us.
