  1. And I don't want to go up against Cole Hamels twice in a 5-game series. Amen.
  2. Again: THANK GOD WE DON'T PLAY FLORIDA AGAIN THIS YEAR!!! This feels sooooo much better.
  3. We finally beat Harang. Yay! So the key is trot out our bench players. Who would've thunk it.
  4. Bold Prediction. We are going to sweep Arizona! You heard it hear first. The series won't even be close. Cheers. :) I hope you're right. that would be bittersweet considering I have tickets to game 4. I just get this feeling. Just like I knew the Cubs would close it out last night. I have a better feel for this team then the 2003 team for whatever reason.

  6. Hill looks great!
  7. Is it Wednesday yet?!?!?!
  8. That's good stuff right there. Might be the post of the year.
  9. I have good friends from San Pedro, Belize who are HUGE Cubs fans. I went there on vacation 5 years ago and found out this tiny little island are all Cubs fans. Why? Because WGN was their first cable channel they ever got and everyone grew up with the Cubs. They came out here the past two years, and you should've seen their face the first time they saw Wrigley. They were in awe! They dreamt about this moment all their lives...It was a cool moment for them and me. Cubs are world wide man! They touch us all...
  10. Walking distance from my Job. I'm there!
  11. Why am I a Cubs fan??? LOVE, HOPE, and of course above all FAITH. Why am I a Cubs Fan??? Because we are the best fans on this earth! Bar none! We are all drunken' stupid on the Cubs. I wouldn't want it any other way. We cheer together and cry together. I love everyone that sticks by this team no matter what. NEVER QUIT! When we finally win it all, I want to party with real Cubs fans! Cubs fans like the people on this board!
  12. Marlins spanking the Mets. I hate that team.
  13. Rieu, screw you! Keith Law, screw you more! Well, I mean hey -- they've got a point. Even though the Cards didn't deserve it last year and became champions. However, I would point out that none of these other NL contenders are really screaming "great team" to me either. The entire NL is pretty flawed when you think of it. Actually, when you really think of it -- there's no truly great powerhouse team in all of baseball, not even in the AL. Some of the great teams of yore would probably just rape every team in the league right now, even the Yanks and BoSox. We deserve to be in though. Remember the Padres a couple years ago when they made it in with a losing record? They had 82 wins. Two games above .500.
  14. mmmm..... Johnnie Walker Black. Wait. Isn't getting home from school already an excuse to start drinking? Love Johnnie Walker Black. My father in law bought me Johnnie Walker Blue and Gold. Blue was awesome. The bottle didn't last long. At the going rate for a bottle of blue, my mom has made hers last for more than 12 months now. I have tasted exactly half a shot, and it was glorious. I've never even seen gold - is it higher on the totem pole than blue is? Gold is in between Black and Blue. My Wife and I travel a ton so I always pick up a bottle of Blue for my Father-in-Law, and he does the same for me. So good...I can typically get Blue for about 119.00 bucks when I travel.

  16. Rieu, screw you! Keith Law, screw you more! I hate Keith Law. Even before this. He always bugged me.. All the more reason to hope the Mets get eliminated. I think his head would explode. Say all you want about the central Keith. but the past two years Central teams have represented the NL in the WS. Last 3 years. Complaining about another team not getting in place of the Cubs/Brewers is pretty crazy considering that other team likely won't even be a 90 win team. That's right 3 years. It's going to be 4 years soon...

  19. rieu (Cambridge, MA): If the NL is AAAA, then is the NL Central AA? The Cubs have been eliminated from the wild card chase. Do we really have to award the Cubs a playoff spot? SportsNation Keith Law: (2:41 PM ET ) I couldn't agree more. It's a shame that we could see two of the Phillies, Rockies, and Padres go home, but a team that couldn't even win 87 games in the worst division in baseball gets in.
  20. THE CLAWWW!!!
  21. I'm about 3/4 of a mile away. So , yeah, I'm there!
  22. We make history....
  23. I haven't been able to watch a full game in weeks. My nerves and stomach can't take it. If it's worth watching I'll re-watch it. I keep flipping channels, pacing back and forth, kicking and punching walls, etc...
  24. eff (Madison, WI): If the Cubs make the playoffs and if their bullpen pitches in the playoffs like it has these last two months, do you think they can score enough runs on a consistent basis in the playoffs to make a deep run? It seems the Cubbies are quite hot and cold with their run scoring production. SportsNation Jayson Stark: (1:20 PM ET ) I can't figure the Cubs out. You look at the names in that lineup, and the versatility of that lineup, and I have no idea why they don't hit more home runs or get more hits with men in scoring position. Then again, Lou Piniella can't figure it out, either. I think that team has enough talent to win the World Series. But they're just not consistent enough to pick them to do that. And I've thought about it, too. Believe me.
