  1. I see you're going out on a limb there..
  2. It always does when you were inches away from winning it. Stings like a bitch.
  3. If you are right, I will give you one month of free premium!! We might was well give me it now. Have faith brother, we'll be fine.
  4. Nah. 1984 game 5. I was a wreck. I was in college, watching in my apartment, and when the grounder went through Durham's legs, I walk over tothe kitchen, picked up a chair and repeatedly smashed it against the wall until it was a pile of toothpicks. Never said a word, and nor did my roomate. I was 14 and I punched walls until I cried. Damn near broke my hand. If anything that day prepared me for 2003.
  5. I have no doubt we'll win this series. NONE!
  6. Yes! Lou managed a terrible game last night. He really did. I don't agree with pinch-hitting there. There were 2 outs. Still need a big 2-out hit. Webb had control issues in the inning, but I think it was more of a case of pitching around Derosa and Soto. Granted, I would have thrown Z 1 more inning, but I hate wasting PH w/ 2 outs. Chances to score aren't that great even w/ the bases loaded. Chances to score last night were next to 'nil. If you have a chance to score there why wait? You never know if you'll get a chance like that all night. Go For it!
  7. Are you being sarcastic? Honest question. Please say you are. He faced us once this year. He threw 6ip and allowed 1ER. Our lineup that day had Theriot, Kendall, and Monroe, and no Soriano. That and back then any lefty could've shut us down. I think we light this guy up tonight.

  9. I'm hung-over. Bad. It's simple. Unless we score runs, we are going to lose.
  10. I do to. I just can't see anywhere the Cubs don't win this series. Unless they beat themselves.
  11. Slap your roommates. It's a must win!
  12. Tell me you still feel like we're gonna win this series. I do. How many times have we looked clueless the first games of series only to come back and win it. Have Faith.
  13. Combo of both. It's amazing how we consistently swing at garbage. Why do pitchers even pitch us strikes?
  14. I'm hanging my hat on: How many times did we lose the first game in the series and then win the next 2. We'll win this game tonight.
  15. That sucked! Gotta win tonight. Badly! Start game 2 thread already!
  16. It's only one game. Another way to look at it is, it's the 15th of 16. Or another way to look at it is they are 1-0. Regular season is meaningless right now. The Rockies suddenly being world-beaters means quite a bit though. We'll see...

  18. Good game to kick off the playoffs! 4.5 more hours...
  19. Actually, yes. I was part of ESPN's "Five Reasons You Can't Blame Bartman" special. I hated to see this kid get tarred and feathered. Alex Gonzalez ought to send Bartman Christmas cards every year. The thing I hate about the networks is their fascination with Bartman and the goat. Yep, I guarantee you that the goat and Bartman will be mentioned within the first 2 minutes of the pregame. And every 2 minutes after that.
  20. Didn't Z almost throw a no-no in Arizona a few years ago? I seem to remember that. Anyone have his career stats there? I have nothing to back this up other than my sincerest hope, but I think he'll do fine tonight. But we will need 3-4 runs to get it done. Wasn't that in 2003? i know he almost threw a no hitter against colorado in 2004. It was this game...Against Schilling http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/ARI/ARI200308220.shtml
