    I'm all for a fire sale, but if you trade all of those guys (the only one I can understand is Zambrano), then you're guaranteed of not winning anything for at least the next 10 years. Yeah, like it took the Marlins 10 years to win another World Series. Not that the firesale helped all that much. IIRC, the only thing they got in return during the first firesale that actually helped in 2003 was DLee. Well, that proves my point even more. It's idiotic to say if we get rid of our good players we won't win for 10 years. Most of the players on the Cubs probably won't even be playing in 10 years.

    I'm all for a fire sale, but if you trade all of those guys (the only one I can understand is Zambrano), then you're guaranteed of not winning anything for at least the next 10 years. Yeah, like it took the Marlins 10 years to win another World Series. And how many other teams have won with "top prospects" right out of the gate? Hate to sound like Captain Obvious, but prospects are hit and miss. The Marlins hit the jackpot with the players that they got. And if Hendry is still the GM if a fire sale were to take place (which is highly unlikely in the first place), I doubt we'd get the best prospects available anyway. I don't consider 10 years "right out of the gate". If prospects haven't matured within 10 years something went wrong.
