    Rich Hill ain't coming back anytime soon. Pulled after 2 2/3 innings. 55 pitches only 27 strikes. 2hits, 3K/3BB, 2 runners left on. 3 ER.

    Aren't we going to keep starting Dempster? Then why let him go above 100 pitches? He's looked more vulnerable the last 2 innings. What's the point? Will anyone remember his 'complete game' next week?

    Unless the Cubs build up about a 15 run lead here, my guess is that Marmol would go back in. It's too bad, but I don't see much way that it doesn't happen. A 4 run lead here does not assure this game. They've been coming back on us all night. This is not the same situation as putting Marmol in with a 6 run lead and the opposing team has shown no signs of life. This game was 96% in the bank at the start of the inning.

    I can kind of 'get' letting Marmol practice a bunt in a live situation in case it's required in another close game where he needs to pitch 2 innings, but if (when) he toes the rubber in the 8th Lou should be fired.

    This game will become Dusty's excuse for letting Volquez pitch a 143 pitch complete game with a 6 run lead.

    Anyone care to play guess the contract terms? Hendry is unlikely to go league minimum, because there must be A LOT of other teams interested - so I'll throw out $1M with PA bonuses that could reach $4.
