  1. I'd pull Z at 6IP or 80, no-hitter or not....
  2. It didn't show the game as blacked out when I signed in. Obviously I don't know if it's going to work yet, but it let me choose the WGN feed and brought up the player. They have now removed the blackout icon on the main page... strange.
  3. Down with ESPN and down with Bud Selig. So the MIL/PHI game 2 is blacked out and the Cubs game is blacked out for me and I am NOT happy. Not that I would advocate as much, but you can proxy around the system and say watch the game through Great Britain... just waiting for the start.
  4. MLB.TV now lists the game as nationally blacked out !!!!!!!!!! :cray:
  5. Looks like it will be available on MLB.TV - you can watch the WGN feed. $8 for the game or $20 for the rest of the season.
  6. Isn't Myers on short rest?
  7. Update from Wittenmeyer "The Houston Astros appear willing and able to get out of Houston Sunday to play the Cubs at a neutral site Sunday and Monday, but Astros players are fighting a recommendation to play at Milwaukee’s Miller Park because of the virtual home-field advantage that affords the Cubs, according to sources. Insiders expect an agreement to be struck tonight, and the Cubs moved back travel plans from tonight to early Sunday."
  8. From Sun Times: "Cubs still expect word tonight on site/time for Stros games." You know what would have been helpful in this whole situation? If someone could invent some sort of 'Storm Tracker' that would have been able to map out where the storm would likely hit and when. It would really have helped if there was some advance warning that the Astros could have used to make decisions.
  9. No word on how scared Lance Berkman is of small planes...
  10. Bruce Miles chimes in... likely no baseball Sunday...
  11. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2008/09/cubs-waiting-fo.html Doesn't it also hold that ANY game anywhere on Sunday is off?
  12. Brings new meaning to "break out the brooms".
  13. Chase Tower 7 blocks from MMP downtown... this cannot bode well for Houston (or the likelihood of playing a game in Houston). http://images.chron.com/photos/2008/09/13/13004263/600xPopupGallery.jpg http://images.chron.com/photos/2008/09/13/13004293/600xPopupGallery.jpg http://images.chron.com/photos/2008/09/13/13004354/600xPopupGallery.jpg Glass debris litter the street near the intersection of Travis Avenue near Texas in downtown Houston.
  14. From MLB.com: It appears too late to "make" the right decision. :(
  15. Looks like only Friday is officially postponed...
  16. Oh no, they wouldn't have to fly anywhere! Ridiculous. What if they just take off, circle around Missouri for a while, then land?
  17. This sounds like a fine time to play in Houston - this is foolishness on part of MLB and the Astros.
  18. For those who believe in the value of these sorts of things- While both the Cubs and Brewers have been brutal the last 7 days, the Cubs have hurt their playoff hopes by <1%, while the Brewers have hurt theirs by nearly 20%. From BP's postseason odds on 9/10: Current chance of postseason play: Cubs 98.8% (89.8% NLC winners) Brewers 73.2% (9.6% NLC winners)
  19. Brewers are now 26-12 in 1 run games... Cubs 19-19.
  20. I always think of the Phillies as an offensive team that just outslugs the competition. This year, though, the Cubs have scored 80+ more runs and the Phillies pitching has actually been pretty good, allowing the 3rd fewest runs in the NL (and only 17 more than the Cubs).
  21. In the 4th innning the Red Sox had a 99.7% chance of winning... http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/280812102_Rangers_RedSox_102026981_lbig.png
  22. Per David Pinto: Of forty innings at Miller Park, Washington plated runs in just three.
