    yeah it's just a big-ass slug of rain headed that way. i guess it should be running into drier air in the ohio valley, so maybe the rain will become light enough to play through. doesn't look promising though. What do you think the odds of getting it in are?

    I don't think it will be. Houston proper is too far inland. There will be some wind damage, but probably not to MMP or most major structures. Of course I'm not expert on hurricanes, I could be completely wrong. That is just what I've been reading. Have you seen the expectations for this storm? If it makes landfall as a strong 3 or weak 4, Houston will be on the bad side of it. 125MPH winds--yeah, I'm sure nothing will be damaged and power will be up and running right away. You realize people in Louisiana are still without power because of Gustav?

    In his just posted column, Wittenmeyer suggests that those are just "rumors" about the Cubs playing at a neutral site. Phil Rogers goes a little further and suggests MLB should step in and prevent the Cubs from even heading down to Houston. At the core of the Cubs playing in Houston: money...at least according to Rogers.
