  1. Let's work a three team deal. Ramirez to the Cubs, Holliday to the Red Sox and a boat-load of prospects to the Rockies. :P
  2. Huh? It's the flippin' 6th inning. It's only a one run game.
  3. I have no faith Edmonds will stay healthy enough. Between his feet and his knees--I'm truly concerned about him. If DeRosa has to keep playing RF, while not getting rest, his production will decline. Fuku/Johnson + a quality RF bat seems like a rather safe bet to me.
  4. Really? Do we think Edmonds is gonna be healthy all year? I'd like to see a RF and Fuku moved to CF.
  5. Daryle Ward might be faster than Reed Johnson.
  6. after gaudin it will be eyre then howry (jeff is unavailable) Earlier, Pat and Ron sounded almost certain Howry was unavailable this afternoon.
  7. I hope the fastball location light went on for Marmol.
  8. I truly hope this is mere posturing on his part.
  9. Why does Eyre exist in the pen, if he's never going to be used?
  10. When's the next time Lou will let Marshall pitch, September?
  11. I see no use for Fox on the 40-man. There's been no time-line disclosed for his return, no rehabbing on his part. Sure, his return was a feelgood story, but now all he's doing is wasting a spot for a useful arm like Ceda. If Gooz is really eyeing a mid-August return, I'm sure the Cubs' hand will be forced as to what to do with Fox, but with the bullpen being expended like it is, at the very least he should go on the 60-day DL.
  12. It's the same drivel post after post with you.
  13. Cubs pitchers love throwing hittable 0-2, 1-2, pitches.
  14. Just get Chad Fox off the 40-man.
  15. Phil Rogers and Gordon Wittenmeyer suggested his call-up could be sooner, rather than later. Any truth to their intimations?
  16. With an OBA of .400, not many teams do. More teams than not. Holy crap, Tracy looked awful. He's a tough out. I screwed that up when I typed it and you were quick with the quote.
  17. Let me preface this by saying that Wuertz should be brought back up ASAP. But he was sent down in large part because he hadn't pitched well since the middle of May. At some points in there, he had some strange usage patterns, and at other points he didn't. But he was pretty bad for about a 40 day stretch and his last 15 appearances in the majors or so. How has he done in comparison to Howry in that stretch though? Howry's allowed a lot less baserunners. Wuertz has the much better ERA. Howry has been very good at coming in with runners on. Haven't found how Wuertz has done in those spots. Wuertz's ERA is really good because other people have come in and done a great job of getting out of his innings where he has let the first couple runners on. The last 17 outings he had in the majors, he was allowing over 2 baserunners an inning. You can't survive long as a relief pitcher doing that. Wuertz has inherited 30 runners and allowed 9 to score.
