  1. Yeah I don't care to watch FSC at all. If City can pull out a point it is going to be huge. No FSC in HD yet? not for me. unless its on a different channel that I have not searched for yet. So I guess it's coming in April. I think FSC+ is imminent on DirecTV but is a la carte like it's earlier incarnation, Setanta. As good as any info can be found can be found here: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=b21390f8732b29d51f77e19dec10fbdf&t=645903&page=93
  2. Hand wringing over: http://www.yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=blog&entry=72 GD it. how many of these do we have to lose before we figure this sh out? Maybe just one more? http://www.yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=5878
  3. GOALKEEPERS: Tim Howard (Everton), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Marcus Hahnemann (Wolverhampton). DEFENDERS: Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes), Jonathan Spector (West Ham), Clarence Goodson (Start), Jay DeMerit (Watford), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Heath Pearce (Dallas), Frank Simek (Sheffield Wednesday). MIDFIELDERS: Landon Donovan (Everton), Michael Bradley (Moenchengladbach), Stuart Holden (Bolton), Jose Francisco Torres (Pachuca), Maurice Edu (Glasgow Rangers), DaMarcus Beasley (Glasgow Rangers), Alejandro Bedoya (Orebro). FORWARDS: Jozy Altidore (Hull City), Eddie Johnson (Aris), Robbie Findley (Real Salt Lake). Good to see Pearce, Simek, Bedoya and DeMerit in the fold. Beasley and EJ...not so much.

  5. That was a really, really fun game. Donovan and Pienaar combined really well.
  6. I think that kit in White and Navy Blue would be very nice. You'll see the full World Cup squad that's fit in that match in Amsterdam. We're done with trials. It's tune up time now.
  7. The first time I looked at these, I wasn't into it. The more I look at them, the more I like them. New kits: http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm16/dhohulin/newkitdeuce.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm16/dhohulin/newkitld.jpg
  8. 10 minute Freddy & EJcentric highlight of the last Aris match: Dutch squad: http://www.soccer365.com/european_news/story_19210150903.php Some badasses in the squad.
  9. I need to watch that when I get home. He looks great. Yeah, a little smaller in the shoulders and chest, but overall he looks very good. Just to allow ourselves to dream about him being fully fit in South Africa: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gXxardYjZ4
  10. He'd be worth taking the same way Brazil should think about taking Ronaldinho - that instant plan B off the bench. Game plan not working? Throw in the guy who can bring that little bit of magic and do something unexpected. Certainly not what we'd hoped for when we compared Freddy to players like Ronaldinho when he was 14-15, but if he stays in form, you have to take him over people like Kljestan or Findley.
  11. US v Czech Republic rounds out the tune ups on May 25 at home at a tbd site.
  12. Yeah because they don't have any midfielders that like to sneak into the space vacated by the extra man marking Rooney and poach goals. Except Lamps. And Gerrard. [expletive]. It's been pretty amazing how fast Rooney has gone from being the most overrated player in the world to living up to his potential in the past two years. He's an animal.
  13. US v Turkey May 29, Lincoln Financial Field in Philly.
  14. Benny out two weeks with an ankle means a probable Bradley-Torres pairing in Amsterdam. Blessing in disguise. I'd love to see an extended run out for Torres against a possession team like Holland.
  15. Well I'd hope he'd put out after three teams in three years totaling about 20 games. Get ready for the heir to the Giuseppi Rossi/Nevan Subotic hand wringing throne: http://www.yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=5825 Screw the U-20's. You're 18 and getting first team action at Estudiantes, you get to go to the World Cup. Even if only as an observer.
  16. That was a nice run to get on the end of that pass, but I need to see more than a couple 15 second clips.
  17. Johnson-----Rio----Terry-----Bridge does not scare me. Or Jozy and Clint.
  18. SNAP http://www.soccerbyives.net/.a/6a00e54ef2975b883301287790b512970c-500wi That is one soft challenge. You can't just poke at the ball like that. As an aside, this Raul to NYRB stuff sounds fun if he takes it seriously.
  19. And Chris Myers asking John Terry about boinking a teammates girlfriend on the sideline.
  20. That made my day. Is it this year's that it's going to be on a weekend? Wait, like FOX FOX? FOX FOX for real. Joe Buck and Robbie Earle in the box?
  21. That made my day. Is it this year's that it's going to be on a weekend? Yep, a Saturday afternoon. Landon drew a penalty that was saved as well. Could have had 2 assists.
  22. Everton and Chelsea saying F YOU SPAIN today. Three goals so far. Total passes on those sequences: 5.
  23. The Champions League Final is going to be on FOX this year. That's a huge deal.
  24. Bethany Dempsey in SI Swimsuit (nsfw): http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010_swimsuit/painting/bethany-dempsey/ USA USA USA
  25. USS about to announce two May friendlies. I'm guessing Mexico and some good Euro squad.
