  1. He's definitely not biased or anything. I'm sure he'd love to see Clint at his club, but defending his character doesn't help make that happen.
  2. Steve Nicol, who was Clint's manager when he was desperate for MLS to accept either Everton or Preston NE's offers but didn't get what he wanted, refuses to believe Jol's accusations. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1136037/clint-dempsey-fined-for-refusal-to-play-for-fulham?cc=5901
  3. Off the top of my head, Jol has pulled this same BS with Zamora, Berbatov and Carrick before finally selling them.
  4. Hes just driving down the price for Everton.
  5. BeIn Sport confirmed on Dish & Directv. Spain, Italy & France leagues, Ray Hudson etc.
  6. The Mexican broadcast highlights are awesome, especially on Tim Howard's saves.
  7. JerBAINe Jones, you guys.
  8. That Brek Shea mismatch is Mexico's kryptonite against us.
  9. Between us and them? I think it remains. That was about half their regulars, sorta trying, in a half full stadium. They still dominated us. I'm thrilled we won, happy we broke our duck in that hellhole, and can't wait for next summer, but if you put both's side's A roster out there in Azteca in a WCQ, right now, they're better. I'm still a little buzzed on micheledas ([expletive] yeah I watched the game at a Mexican restaurant while getting drunk on Mexican beer) and I'm posting on a iPhone but I'll try to be clear. There is no doubt they are the superior program. But the talent gap, not that big. It's there, but it's not that big. It's not insurmountable and it's not even as big as the gap was between us in 07 when we were on top. It's healthy competition but it's not a substantial gap. Our u-23's are medal-caliber despite not even qualifying for the Olympic tourney. So they got gold? So fuckin what? Just as much good luck went into that medal as bad luck went into our not qualifying. Give me our future over theirs. Yes they slePt on this game, yes it meant more to us than them, but it's still the fuckin monkey off our back. Their mystical fortress is just a run down, busted death trap with loud acoustics. We have the belief that they dot, the discipline that thu don't and we will win a world cup and they won't. [expletive] them. UNO A CERO, PUTOS. With our scrubs, bros. our fuckin scrubs.
  10. The gap isn't that big, realistically.
  11. BROS! SERIOUSLY BROS!
  12. No Bradley, Dolo, Boca, Jozy or Deuce for Azteca on Weds. Very green back line, some head shakers (Beasley, Orozco, Castillo) but I love the Shea call up. He gives Mexico fits. I expected DeMerit & Pontius based on form but JK doesn't rate them. A lot of consideration for club situations. Clearly a result is secondary to experience scenario. http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Mens-National-Team/2012/08/Klinsmann-Names-Roster-for-Aug-15-Friendly-Against-Mexico.aspx
  13. http://www.noshortcorners.com/2012/08/ajax-2-2-jozy-ft.html Jozy treated the Ajax center backs very roughly today. 2 goals and who knows how many bruises on the guy marking him.
  14. It's a little soon to put them in that conversation just on a talent basis alone. Factor in the hundred or so year track record of ego, complacency and political infighting derailing their potential and I don't think they'll ever win a Workd Cup.
  15. If Mexico can keep embracing professionalism off field and this kind of heart, confidence & humility on the field...yikes.
  16. Our U-23's beat the Mexican U-23's like two months ago, so that means we're gold medalists, right?
  17. Official news today: Lukaku to West Bromwich Albion for a season-long loan spell. Well at least he'll get playing time. Madness! Gio Dos Santos out of the Men's Gold Medal Game, so we're definitely still in the hunt to be the first CONCACAF nation to win a major tourney.
  18. John Anthony Brooks, 19 year old Afro-Germanican Center Back, has 4 caps with our u-20's. He's Hertha Berlin's starting CB this year and he's really big, fast, strong and good with the ball at his feet. He's very talented and has a bright future at a position our senior side is lacking. He just got called up to the German's u-20 camp.
  19. Cam? Good name for a QB.
  20. Not me; I have a ton of respect for El Tri and some of the guys they have. It's particularly nice to see Gio have a good run in front of all the idiot Englishmen who think he sucks because his manager at Spurs was an idiot. Also, nothing would make me happier than to see the Show Pony get worked on a big stage. Was thinking about this last night. Mexico's generation that won the u-17 World Cup like 6-7 years ago is now of age and they've taken very strange career paths and a lot of them are garbage now, but they're a scary good team. The only players in the world who are more undervalued in Europe than Americans are Mexicans.
  21. Abby Wambach is the [expletive]. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/olympics--abby-wambach-s-brains-proved-to-be-big-assist-to-u-s--women-s-soccer-s-comeback-against-canada.html
  22. Deuce is allegedly holding out of Fulham's preseason tour, West Ham have allegedly agreed to terms for an Andy Carroll loan with option to buy spell, so he might be moving shortly.
  23. Ahahaha! DeRo finally pawned it off on Ben Olsen who laughed and immediately handed it to Roger Torres who looked at it confusedly.
  24. I always forget there's a trophy for the MLS all star game. Embarrassing. DeRo tried to hand it to Donovan who laughed and pushed it away. DeMerit (who was the best player tonight) lol'd.
  25. If Chris Pontius were born in 1977, he'd have 100+ caps.
