    I think it was current Hiroshima Carp RHP Hiroki Kuroda. What I don't remember is the length of the new contract he signed with Hiroshima last offseason; he may still be under contract with them.

    Sort of. I could see Marquis being used in a multi-utility role of sorts, given that he could pinch hit for purposes of laying down a bunt or pinch run for one of the slower hitters without burning a dedicated position player. With him not in the rotation, though, I'd have to wonder if they'd burn him for one of those purposes if it wasn't immediately followed by him entering the game to pitch.

    :evil: I'm similarly pessimistic. Oh good, then it's not just me.

    I'd root for the Rockies as a potential NLCS opponent for the Cubs. We're 5-2 against Colorado on the season and the Cubs have shown they generally match up well against the Rockies. Facing them in the NLCS would be like getting near the end of a big test and realizing you know the answer to the last question.

    I have the roster shirt on order from CubWorld (although the USPS tracking says it was "missent" today :x). That blue division champions hat is really, really nice, but I have about 14 pieces of Cubs headwear (including a yarmulke with a Cubs logo on it) as is; if I'm going to make it an even 15, I'll wait for a hat that says "WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS" on it.

    That's really, really solid work. The hip hop mix of the song has really grown on me since it was first posted. Between this and my highlight mix, it seems like victory brings out the creative best in Cub fans, eh?
