  1. looks like that yanking of z turned out to be a great move after all....since its so obvious a game 4 is happening.
  2. thank God there is alot of time left in the game! our offense is anemic to say the least. we need to break out of this in a hurry. soriano needs to earn that $136M next inning.
  3. i cant believe people sit here and honestly say bringing in marmol was a good move. you dont pull a guy with 8K's and 85 pitches to "save him for game 4." if he was hurt, thats one thing - but if it was to save him for game 4 it was a horrific move. end of story. there is no possible way to rationalize that move if he wasnt hurt. you dont sacrifice games in the playoffs, period. i dont blame a loss on any one person....but if you want to analyze a move and whether or not it was good....its clear as day it was a terrible move. lou Piniella did not by himself cost us the game....but yanking z was not good. i dont see any possible way anybody could think it was a good move. i just dont.
  4. that comment about "can you gurantee z wouldnt have given up a homer" was the dumbest comment ive ever read in my entire life. literally the dumbest.
  5. horrific move by lou....who sacrifices game 1 in order to "save z for game 4"....wow....amazing. no one's fault by lou. the guy has 8 K's with minimal pitchcount and he gets yanked for a miserable bullpen. horrific.
  6. yeah clearly it was fine. 2 to 1....horrific move may have cost us the game.
  7. A lot of Cubs fans might not like their odds in facing Doug Davis. His mediocre ass has owned us. are you kidding? you dont like our odds in davis vs lilly?
  8. i dont agree with hooking zambrano, 3 games rest or not. you cant sacrifice game 1 for anything. we need this victory and our bullpen doesnt excite me. i would ride him hard until the end....think about game 4 later. we need game 1.
  9. Dback fans better hope they put us away tonight. I cant imagine they like their odds in facing Lilly in game 2.
  10. in true cable-less cubs fan fashion, im watching ESPN gamecast and posting like a machine on NSBB.com. ive posted more in the last 5 minuts than i have the last 5 months. go cubs!
  11. bases loaded! please lets get one more hit!!!!!!!! please!!!!!!!
  12. oh my God he got a hit!!!!!!!!!!!! whats the number to jade dragon!!!!!!!!!!
  13. ill get theriot's face tattooed on my forehead if he gets a baseball
  14. ill get soto's face tattooed on my chest if he drives in a run
  15. the post about Arod playing SS on a unicycle was classic! As far as adding a 150+ RBI guy batting .300+ with God knows how many HR's and SB's...it would cause me to go into a seizure and possibly even die. that would be the most stacked lineup ive ever seen. Soriano, Lee, Ramirez, and Rodriguez. Arod will have massive numbers another 5 seasons. i dont care what it takes, i just want a world series. if the cubs won the world series i'd get a picture of ronnie woo-woo smoking crack on my back. hell, id smoke crack with ronnie woo woo for all i care.
  16. hahah yeah im trying to figure it out right now...if i cant ill just remove it. lol its HUGE!!!
  17. while im not sure if he'll get the 300 IP, 39 wins, and 33 homers i predicted...i think Z will be in the race for the cy young if we get some offense. :D
  18. i am not the most knowledgable cubs fan, i am just a life-long northsider who bleeds cubbie blue. so im not claiming to be all-knowing, but i still feel pretty good about this season. i am excited to see how this unfolds. i really think Derrek Lee's health could be one of the more positive factors in 07. i think him playing a full season could make all the difference in the world. happy about Soriano and obviously having Aramis back and i think Murton could give us a great season. im hoping jones/floyd platoon and allow murton to play everyday. i love his solid bat. i think barrett is very solid himself. the pitching rotation is fairly intruiging. im thinking zambrano will do his usual 200+ IP and 3.00-3.75 ERA. still wont count on prior or wood (been let down too many times) but hoping with wade miller that its realistic to expect 1 out of the 3 will remain healthy. lilly is interesting too though i dont expect an ERA in the 3.00's but if he stays low 4.00's we might be able to get 15 wins out of him. my picks to click are Derrek Lee and Murton. go CUBBIES!!!
  19. before i even started reading the thread i made an appointment with a therapist because i was suddenly stricken with anxiety, manic depression, emotional instability, and suicidal thoughts. i was that disturbed.
  20. yeah zambrano is going to get mega bucks. maybe 6/$90. he's an absolute horse always going 200+ IP with ERA in the 3.00's....plus good amount of K's. if he had another year like the last couple and was a FA the yankees or red sox would offer him $150M. we should bat him cleanup, too. :D
  21. im not the most knowledgable baseball fan (thats being generous) but generally speaking its very tough to be optomistic about a pitcher with a 6.00+ ERA. ive been told im pressimistic on this board...but any cubs fan who has endured what we've endured and is not bitter is a miracle of human nature.
  22. i am rich hill. next year i will have a 0.11 ERA with 250 IP, 302 K's, 8 BB's, and a record of 28-0. i will be inducted into the HOF mid-way through the season. on the last game of the season i will be put on the DL after injuring my foot due to kicking jason marguis in the butt.
  23. Sorry, the extrrrrrreeeeeme pessimism gets to me sometimes. It almost seems like people are going out of their way to make sure to be as mad and dissapointed as possible. To say we have an ace and 4 #5's, that's just crazy. we just a signed a guy with a 6.00+ ERA. calling him a 5th starter is being genous. so i rephrase...we have one #1 starter, four #5 starters, and one AAA pitcher.
  24. sweet. we have one #1 starter and six #5 starters.
  25. well, by planning on them to be injured....you take into account that kerry wood and mark prior have basically been injured since 2004. in my opinion its not a stretch of the imagination to believe they may actually be injured in 2007.
