i have no doubt that if the cubs do tie this game eventually ...which they won't....sosa will homer WTF...on a day all we heard about defense and how we need more defense over offense this happens...Michael Barrett is laughin his behind off in San Diego right now

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Bowen won't play today, or even be with the team for the game. He just got traded today. It'll probably take him a day to get settled in and ready to go in Texas. It's being reported that Barrett is starting for San Diego, so why not Bowen for the Cubs? It's actually a little shorter of a flight coming east with the tailwind. who is startin for the padres tonight?

well...all i can say is a cubs win tonight will go a long way to make my feel good about the cubs...cuz im kinda in this uncertain fog after the barrett trade cuz after all day i still don't kno what to think of it

I wouldn't say it hinges. I would think there's a better chance Hendry realizes they need offensive help now that Barrett has been replaced for defensive purposes. And hopefully he realizes that SS and RF are the two biggest need spots for that improvement. i kinda wit the departure of barrett am more intrigued by all that griffey talk...because something needs to be upgraded offensively at either RF or SS and like has been said.....can't wait until the deadline

well bowen at least came up with the twins so he knows fundamentals...and pry won't get picked off second base by the catcher, but then again when the cubs logo is on his chest he pry will stop takin walks and get picked off, while barrett will become a good defensive catcher and great baserunner

Agreed. they did free up a lot of money and got straight cash in this deal, so ive heard so far, so hopefully it leads to another bat somewhere else

well, the only thing i can say is that Barrett was not a good offensive player when he got here in 2004...so i think bowen is above him at that part and being on the right side of 30 doesn't help, but i still dont see how you can get rid of a bat when the team is strugglin and dlee is due a suspension.....couldnt they have pulled this trigger after the suspension
