  1. For a second there i thought i was going to go through this entire thread and not see anything about him. He is a the definition of classless in my mind. He ruins organizations...hopefully he works his magic on the Marlins  (Note: I do not wish anyone on the Marlins ill...just years of bad drafting and no more Free Agents that play well)
  2. It's always bad times when someone affiliated with the team visits a message board. Dave Duncan visited Cards Talk once anonymously, posted something (I think something positive about Chuck Finley but I could be wrong) and he got ripped to shreds by a ton of posters. When they found out it was Dunc, the anti-Duncussa or LaDuncan (whichever you prefer) faction came out of the woodwork and made fun of him to no end. It was ugly. Say it with me now...m-o-d-e-r-a-t-o-r-s. I absolutely love the fact that we've got one of the beat writers for the Cubs as a regular reader here, one of the minor league announcers, we've had minor league players come online and browse (and post???). A lot of people have complained that we run a "country club" type of atmosphere here or claim censorship...but our ability to attract and retain some of these people is only possible because we keep that type of thing under control. The people on that website could have benefitted tremendously by having Duncan contributing from time to time but lost that by allowing a few people to drive him away. Tell those people to spend five minutes at the ESPN.com Cubs bulletin board to see what a lack of "censorship" is like. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!! Do people still actually visit the Cubs ESPN.com board? Anyone intelligent, anyway? As soon as i found that Tim and some of the other few regulars left, i know i got the heck outta there and haven't been back sense. I assume it is how i left it, utter chaous. I should probably add few intelligent regulars, because there were alot of regulars that were just quite stupid.
  3. Lead off HR and then a walk by Corey? I like this!
  4. The Cubs could give them a little bullpen help, a starter, and a replacement for Jones w/ similar upside, who's alot cheaper. Patterson? I wouldn't do it if i was the Braves. Pie? I wouldn't do it if i was the Cubs.
  5. Considering that the Cubs have been down the Alou road before, i highly doubt that Hendry would go and give up prospects for him. Certainly considering all the rumors i would say that there is a much greater chance to get Dunn then there is Alou, despite the division rival problem. And there is probably 0 chance that the Braves trade Jones, he is carrying there team as of late and they have lots of their pitchers on the DL. They need bullpen help, but there is no way they trade Jones for that. I'd still prefer Dunn, Huff or Sheffield (well, up until yesterday with that tirade about contracts and trading). Just no Preston Wilson, please!
  6. Not gonna happen. LA will win the division. And if it does, the Cubs better swoop up and get Tracy. He's the second best manager in baseball. Hm...Ya know, I'd be willing to pull what Oakland did a few years back and trade coaches...Dusty for Jim Tracy. Granted, since Jim is in the hot seat they probably should give us some prospects, maybe the struggeling Edwin Jackson, for Dusty who is 12th (or 11th) on the win list now. Sounds fair to me :D
