  1. pretty basic info; probably more analysis tomorrow. Bold prediction: Christina Kahrl will hate the deal for both teams. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  2. Hendry said that even if he had gotten 6 players today he'd still be open to other deals.
  3. Sounds very logical. Man, if we would have gotten this deal done without Gallagher that would have been ridiculous. I think Beane is smart enough not to have done that deal though. Hendry: "The deal isn't getting made without Gallagher in it. We did kick around a lot of names in the other spots, but I think the deal had a strong chance to get done once Sean was included. I can't speak for Billy Beane, but I don't think he was going down this path in the end without Sean. And it wasn't a guy I wanted to put in or did in the beginning"

  5. he's got a $7M club option for next year Man, that's gonna be awesome going into opening day next year with a 1-2-3 of Z/Harden/Demp. If Hill can get it together, that's a hell of a rotation. Dempster is a FA after this year.
  6. i would agree with that. i just don't see this trade having the potential to bite the cubs in the ass. i guess gallagher has the highest ceiling of any of the guys leaving, and i don't see him as anything more than a #3. should have waited until after tonight's game so murton could hit against harang though. That's the thing. Even if we get 3 starts out of Harden, we aren't going to be pining for any of these guys. Marshall has a better future than Gallagher. We gave up the right kind of players Marshall has a better future than Gallagher?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  7. Lou "As of Friday when I talked to Jim, he was pretty certain then that he couldn't get Sabathia, but he said there were other possibilities"...very interesting.
  8. Olney's right. We didn't match the CC/Brewers trade. We made a deal that was WAAAAAY better (assuming of course that Harden is, and remains, healthy). Because that If is a really really big one, we got the discount.
  9. Club option for 7M next year, also its his last year of arbi so the option can be declined and he'd still be under our control. Hendry did mention that the option can vest, but theres nothing out there that gives any details on that.
  10. Harden is the best pitcher, yet has big injury concerns. When healthy he is the equal of CC Sabathia.
  11. Evidently, Harden's option could vest...I hadn't seen that anywhere. All reports were that it was a simple club option.
  12. Gaudin will go to the pen as the long man, can be a swing man down the line if needed.
  13. So Gallagher, Murton, Patterson, and Donaldson for Harden and Gaudin? Yup, per Hendry on the press conference.
  14. Hendry first inquired 3-4 weeks ago, got serious 10 days ago.
  15. And he believes Matt Murton. Eric Patterson and Josh Donaldson
  16. Kaplans on now and says unconfirmed Harden...Gallagher will be part of the deal.
  17. They've said its not official about 15 times in the first sentence back from break.
