  1. After this game they might be less expensive.
  2. I don't have the overall stats, but I know one team who in 1984 came back to win a five game series after being down 0-2. Ah yes, sadly the Cubs can't play against themselves Both teams would lose. It'd be interesting to see if they walked.
  3. ...and thats an improvement from Lilly.
  4. Most of which is propped up by 2 doubles coming against the Cubs in 2003. i don't believe in clutch, but i believe in choking. and lee looks terrified out there. it's pathetic. I'm with you on that, don't believe players improve and are clutch but I believe hitters can play considerably worse in tense situations. Yay Mike. He also advertises for the best big screen TVs in LA and Orange County. Did you guys get Lou's Aquafina commercial earlier in the game, or was that a local ad? It was hilarious.
  5. 2nd on the COWBOYS!!!! Uhhhh, Dick, these guys won't be playing on Sunday.

  7. This how many teams with winning records did we even play?
  8. If the D'backs win, do you think we'll hire Mike Rizzo and get a good farm system? This is what we have to hope for at this point.
  9. long man Marquis? marquis' last outing?
  10. Have your gf/wife/significant other remove all weapons from your household NOW. the worst part is that shes sleeping on me right now, so i cant yell...and cant use 2 hands to type
  11. 9-3? i think pyag would have them inning both games.
  12. i have tickets to game 4, and all of the nlcs games. if i dont go to one game im going to be very very angry.
  13. truff spreading anger all over the place
  14. Seems as though even despite quotes from Lou, Soto is completely the guy for the cubs right now as hes played the overwhelming majority of the games down the stretch/playoffs. Considering Kendall was actually playing fairly well (at least offensively) when he was replaced, it seems as though the Cubs have a lot of confidence in Geo, and he hasn't let them down. I was frustrated with the late call up of Soto because I didn't feel as though the cubs would give him enough time to prove whether or not he could be considered a starter for 2008. Well, I guess I was wrong, because it seems as though the Cubs are ready to hand the starting role over to Geo. Whats everyone elses read on the situation? Personally, I love Geo back there. He seems to call good games, has a good arm. Offensively, hes...well crap he just hit a homer, so yeah hes doing well. But what I like most is his patience. He has great pitch recognition and doesn't mind going deep into counts. A breath of fresh air for this team.
  15. I thought it had to be different cubs.com accounts, but I could be wrong! I called tickets.com, and she said she thought I would be fine, as the restriction didn't say "cubs.com" account, it said customer, household, email, phone, and credit card. I'm going to call back Monday to make sure. Did anyone else run into this? Thats exactly what I was about to say. I think you hsould be fine.
  16. You can email them if you chose to sell them. However, they are going to be harder to sell since you could sell them over and over again and whoever gets to the gate first is the only one that will be able to use them. Basically you will only be able to sell them to someone you know, someone taking a big leap of faith, or someone stupid. Yes, if they make it to the WS, it will work the same. They have not posted how much the WS tickets will be.
  17. I want the Rockies because then we will have home field advantage and I will get to go to at least 2 games, possibly three. If the Phils win, they have home field advantage and I will only possibly go to one game. Additionally, I see the Phillies and the Rockies as pretty much the same team. Sure they are struggling in this game, but they barely lost yesterday and going into the playoffs won 13 of 17, exactly the same as the Rockies (admittedly a cherry picked cut off point, but you understand what I'm saying).
  18. Thanks for the info!
  19. in fairness, it wasn't just a red light. he picked nevin out as one guy most likely to suffer a major injury and miss most or all of the season, and nevin was hurt a few days later. He separated his shoulder diving for a ball in the OF, unless Carroll had some sort of info leading him to think Nevin had a shoulder that couldn't handle diving on it, I'm not buying it. Nevermind the fact that he's crowing about something he predicted 4 years ago as evidence of don't you dare question the almighty Will I agree that Carroll is too pompous for his own (or anyone's) good, and that it's silly to still be bragging about this prediction. However, it was a pretty impressive call. Here's his quote -- And he did cite his shoulder as the body part to be feared. Link Alright that's admittedly pretty good. My whole deal is if BP will allow Carrol to gloat on their dime then they should demand Silver eat his crow. Alright -- perhaps not unless the Cubs lose another game in the series. I'll bet there won't be a word if we lose another game, though. Doesn't it look petty to anyone else that you allow gloating on one hand, but then ignore when you're wrong on the other?? Maybe I'm all alone on this, fine. It just rubs me the wrong way. It really does. I think these two things are apples and organges. No, strike that, apples, and cucumbers.
  20. What about teams that give up HRs to Mark Reynolds and Stephen Drew in the same game? I still can't believe that happened. It's always the Mark Reynolds of the world that seem to kill us. Whats wrong with Mark Reynolds? His AB/HR is just slightly worse than ARAM. The kid can rake. He had 31 HRs in the minors last year.
  21. What about teams that give up HRs to Mark Reynolds and Stephen Drew in the same game? I calculated that it is 5.2% more likely that Reynolds and Drew hit homers in the same game than Mastsui hits a homer. So, its pretty darn close.
