  5. Giving up a second round pick to keep Cadillac when I had a very good chance to pick up either Edge or Reggie Bush.
  6. Im sure that this has been well documented, but please forgive me as i have been away for a while. Can some one give me a BRIEF rundown on the ups and downs of each manager. I read this thread a got some of diekers views from vance but i was wondering what Freddi G, Giradi and Larry D would all bring to the table. Again just a brief rundown is all im asking.
  7. I always love seeing the NSBBs top 50 prospects of the year. I was just wondering if i had managed to miss it this year or if any one knew when we might see it?
  8. I got ya covered I live on a hog farm, just chip in for gasw.
  9. Think we could be anything at all for him in a trade. Hes not worth much to most teams but he might be able to get us an ok prospect. At least then we could get a look at Soto or another of the young Cs
  10. Ill be in for the brewers series next week, be staying near Lincoln Park, any good parking suggestions.
  11. Anyone know who the pitchers are for iowa in the next two games, i think i might be able to make it to at least one if not both. Thanks
  12. There's also a steakhous on Euclid called (I'm pry botching it) the Iowa Beef and Steak House (somebody correct me). I once had a 20-22 steak, with salad bar and all the garlic bread I could eat for $15 bucks. Depending on when you go it might be the best deal in town. I think its the something about the Chop house, Ohh and i forgot about the Texas Road house on the north bypass near 85th
  13. I believe he was recently shut down and wont be throwing for a week or so.
  14. have they announced his next start?
  15. I work near Jordan Creek and there are some pretty good resturants there. PK Changs, Biaggias (SP?), Joes Crab Shack, A Buffalo Wild Wings is opening soon, and off Course if they like Cheesecake there is the Cheesecake FActory. Downtown near the Park (Court Ave) there is Spagetti Works, Buzzard Billys Flying Carp Cafe (very fun cajun type place), Court Ave Brewery. The absolute best steak house is just west of town in Booneville, its called Rubes, its a grill your own place but it is fantastic! The mall is ok, but the other places like Adventureland, Living history Farms, WAterworks park, and the other things that were mentioned pretty much cover what there is to do. If you are here during Fair time, that is always worth a look, There is also the national balloon classic just south of Des Moines in Indianola, but im not sure when it is.
  16. How bad do you usually get jacked the day of?
  17. Ok here is my situation. My Finace and I had a change of plans for a honey moon and are going to Chicago. We will be there for the Milwakee series from the 26-29. I tried to get tickets from Cubs.com and was out of luck. Does anyone know where I could find two tickets for these games. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
  18. If the Cubs are cursed. Then the St. Louis Cardinals are anti-cursed. How the hell do they keep turning .250 hitters into .300 hitters, and crap pitchers into quality #5 guys. semi competent coaching
  19. from the article "I'm convinced with this whole group that patience is huge and if these guys are going to succeed here and get better and move onto the next level and succeed there, patience is going to be the most important thing," he said. http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060524/SPORTS0301/605240392/1003/SPORTS never posted a link sorry if form is wrong
  20. I know - I had literally just finished reading that article though. Another example of poor journalism - apparently the cubs and the ICubs are last in the PCL in runs scored. Yes the Icusb are terrible at scoring runs this year, this is not what I am saying. It is pretty easy to see they do not score enough runs. Quade was commenting on what his team did well during that game. He pointed out that they were secussful tongiht in part becasue they were more patient at the plate. I just thought it was good to hear a manager praise his team for being patient
  21. I beleive he was refering to last night when his team actually scored runs and commenting on what they did right.
  22. Forgive me for not having a link but I was reading the register today about the Icubs offense. Mike Quade credited his teams offence to have a patient aproach at the plate and letting his players use thier strenghs and not messing with thier swings. Forgive me for not having a link or an exact quote, but I like his style much better than the guys running the big club.
  23. A couple of years ago it was Manny, Now Its definaly Albert. Better all around player, in the box, on the feild, on the bases, and dosnt cause a lot of unnecassary drama
