    Lou Piniella the fine manager of the Chicago Cubs - I was hoping Ron would bust out a new adjective :(

    Lou says that todays lineup is probably pretty close to opening day, though he says "we have Murton second, that can change"

    I gotta admit, statistical analysis really does nothing for me. It might be my intense hatred of mathematics. I like to watch the game. I don't have anything against all these new statistical analysis and agree for those that wish to do so they give a much better look into the game, but I just don't really spend my time reading up on them and analyzing players against each other. This is not to say i prefer new stats to old stat or any of that. I don't care about RBI, and agree that OBP is better than AVG. I just don't care to get into all the really involved stuff.

    I wish he would have had a little more of a period of work than 1 offseason as "interim" President before the 'promotion'.

    Even an average season from Mark would be great. I love watching him pitch.

    I don't think it's that rare. Lots of lower tier coaches find better jobs elsewhere after team success. Is going from being the QB coach on a Super Bowl team to being the QB coach on the Cowboys a better job? more money
