    and the Brewers are breaking it open in Texas... back to 6 games. It seems no matter how good the Cubs do or how bad they do they are stuck at 6 games sometimes a little below that sometimes a little above that.

    I wonder how much better a record this team would have, they didn't have offensive black hole Jones and offensive black hole Izturis running out there almost daily, and if they would just cut ties with Eyre?

    Marquis won, and only gave up 2R 1ER, but he wasn't exactly lights out. That game could have gotten ugly if the Brewers could have gotten a big hit or two.

    is the bereavement list basically like the DL but you don't have to stay on it for 15 days?

    I don't know if this was brought up, but wouldn't tonights game have been the perfect place to get Gallagher's feet wet? Otherwise I can't complain, nice little win.

    an exact repeat of the Sunday version of this game would be fine by me.

    Dan Plesac had the blue kool aid flowing on post game live. Said the Cubs were definitely the best team in the division and they have the deepest starting pitching and it's not even close and that if the bullpen can tighten it up here we're going to have a nice little run here. I know that's partly his job, but he sounded really convinced and excited about this team.
