  1. Definitely one of the most (if not for sure the most) talented Cubs teams I've seen. That team should have ripped through the league after the trade deadline And the most depressing thing looking back at the end of '04 is the starting pitching. Zambrano and Prior were unhitable. Rusch was even pitching out of his mind... but that bullpen :( I remember listening to a game against the Reds from September '04. Prior was flirting with 20K for the first half, kind of lost steam with the K's near the end but ended up with 16 or 18. Gave up a solo home run somewhere in the later innings and left after 9IP with a ND, and of course the Cubs lost it in extras. EDIT - Just looked it up, it was his last start of the year, sept. 30th, so I think the season was all but officially dead at that point. 9.0IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 1HR, 1BB, 16K Sosa had a solo HR Kearns had the HR against Prior Javier #$%^&^ Valentin doubled in the winning run.... Adam Dunn (who set the major league strikeout record for season that day) And a Rusch start where the only offensive support he got was a solo home run... that he hit.

    Derrek Lee

Ward has been real solid this year, I think (hopefully) dropping it down to 3 or 4 games will be worth the wait and Ward will provide a nice replacement when ever the decision is heard. If I wad DLee my #1 argument for getting this reduced is to point out the guy that threw at him, and said whatever he said isn't going to be missing any starts. argument #2 would be, the umpires really dropped the ball in controlling the situation.
  3. Fred's numbers support my theory of Soriano hitting some taters, and likely getting a bunch of other hits.
  4. Soriano is going to have a couple of bombs this series.
  5. ever single vote i've casted (and I think I've voted in all or at least almost every one) I haven't looked at the results or any posts in the thread.
  6. Even when the Cardinals couldn't buy a win, and looked like a total train wreck they scared me and they still do. Until they are eliminated I will not be surprised if they win the division some how some way
  7. If we're sitting at 5.5 or below at the All Star Break I'll be dangerously optimistic :bluekoolaid:
  8. Well it was one of his worst outings, it just a good thing he got out of it and all of his other outings lately have been awesome.
  9. giving Lee the night of was criticized, but thankfully Ward brought his bat and has made all the plays.
  10. grrr. Schneider likes to crush the Cubs doesn't he?
  11. uh oh. But I guess it's not too bad keeping their two best hitters at singles. Kearns scares the crap out of me though
  12. I think it's more getting Felix's glove out there.
  13. Looks like one of Samardzija's better outings.
  14. if we were losing that catch would piss me off a lot more.
  15. I can't imagine the outrage here if Soriano was sitting too
  16. Theriot at 3rd with Aram sitting, Pagan in left with Soriano sitting
