  1. Im not worried about Sheets. Last I read his finger wont be fully healthy the rest of the year, and hes already had 2 blister problems. Add that into the fact he hasnt pitched in quite awhile, and I look forward to seeing the Brewers pen in about the 4th or 5th inning. Parra on the other and.... never seen him, not gonna hit him. He's a lefty too Does his fastball rest comfortably at 84mph?

  3. With Soto doing so well in the Minors, will the Cubs try to put Jason Kendall on the market in the offseason to make way for Koyie Hill and Soto to take the reins behind the plate? -- Zach L., Mokena, Ill. The Cubs don't have that option of putting Kendall "on the market" because the veteran is not signed for next season, and will be a free agent. Soto, 24, has had an impressive season at Triple-A Iowa, both offensively and behind the plate. He arrived in Spring Training this year in the best shape of his career, and he has to do the same in 2008 to win the job. Henry Blanco, by the way, is signed through 2008. Did people actually watch Koyie Hill ????
  4. i've got to learn to stop saying good things about people while they are still playing, Papelbon had a rough 7th but still a great start and the offense picked him up the next half inning. Final line 7.0IP, 6H, 2ER, 10K/0BB, 1HR
  5. Ok that wasn't exactly Veal's final line, here it is 7 1/3IP, 7H, 3ER, 5K, 0BB
  6. If it makes the world more right, when I looked Harvey & Dope were a combined 0fer
  7. Great start (so far) for Papelbon 6.0IP, 4H, 0R, 9K/0BB Colvin 3-4 with a homer, Kyle Reynolds has a HR too Veal 7.0IP, 6H, 3ER, 5K/0BB - final line, 0BB is nice
  8. So I'm guessing at least Tim determined that. Test - Muskat (yep) What if I wanted to have a discussion with my fellow NSBBers about an actual Muskat :(
  9. also is beer girl actually German?, because a hot girl speaking in German is a plus.
  10. Yeah, I'd think he'll be reasonable in salary demands. Depends on who the owner and GM is when it comes time to decide what the Cubs want to do though.
  11. was the game in Philly? I'd call the Russell Branyon game winner against Zambrano on his near no hitter a "pop up"
  12. Exactly, just like I was with Z, wherever he goes I'll follow him and wish him well. Watching Prior on his game is one of the my favorite things to watch. Hopefully he gets back to that.
  13. somehow this sounds familiar.
  14. Probably put Capuano back into the rotation ? :( I was so glad they took him out after his past ownage of the Cubs.
  15. Guzman sighting! pitched the first inning for Mesa 1 hit 2 ground outs and a fly out Vitters is 1 for 4 with an RBI and a K
  16. WTF Lou, you really need to learn a little more about the history of ball club. Next trib headline "Soriano done for the year after freak slip at the airport"
  17. Did Melvin just do a Dustyesque double switch for the hell of it or is Lyons going to pitch the 9th?
