It's good that Rose can come back out... But I think he's not going to be needed.

Are there any other rumored teams interested besides Philly? I'd like to see him get a ring, but I don't want to have to root for Philly. Rangers would be nice.

Unless turner isn't involved, our 40 would probably stay the same after a Garza trade.... Unless they would want one of our other vets

Not going to break my heart if he goes elsewhere, but kind of weird how he went from taking the deal last year where there were better deals on the table (weren't there?), and earlier this offseason his Cubs or retirement comment.

I'm guessing that the Cubs didn't get the blow them away package they were hoping for so they are going to wait and see. Garza should end up the number one target between opening day and July 31 for teams that need another starter for whatever reason. Then after July 31 if he's still on the Cubs they should have a good grasp on the state of the organization so it's either extension time or top bidder in the offseason. Of course the way things have gone he could be traded or extended tomorrow and I wouldn't be shocked. -
I'm sure this was brought up in the middle pages of this thread but Theo & Jed really like to pass Rizzo around Theo drafts him, trades him to Jed, Byrnes inherits him and then trades him to Theo/Jed

Anybody that actually thought Zambrano was going to pitch for the Cubs, was living in an idealized world. Theo saying Z would be given a chance and having lunch with him, honestly may have gotten them up form a never going to make it A baller to a mediocre major league pitcher in return. No matter what bone head racist also thinks so, this is a win.

The negativity is insane. They were spending 18 mill either way... What does it hurt to have Z pitch on the team... But what does it gain?? This is a lost season, nothing is gained by letting Carlos try to earn redemption... Theo/Jed just picked up a piece. Maybe he turns into something maybe not. No one should care about the sunk money, that money is not going to come back to bite the Cubs ever.
