  1. and there goes the Hendricks savings, Schwarber was projected at 3.1
  2. I always thought of Casey's like gourmet frozen pizza, maybe because you're getting pizza at a gas station.
  3. No, I saw somewhere that players are not allowed at any team functions while on suspension.
  4. Projected payroll going down!! From the payroll thread Hendricks - 7.6
  5. Season starts today, this is the pen... fun. 1. Tyler Chatwood 2. Steve Cishek 3. Brian Duensing 4. Carl Edwards Jr. 5. Brandon Kintzler 6. Mike Montgomery 7. Pedro Strop edit - Kyle Ryan got a major league deal so maybe him too
  6. There is still no logical explanation for picking up Hamels option if money is that tight.
  7. Yeah I thought it was this one too, and I was so looking forward to new Ryan Dempster content.
  8. I think Willians may need his own thread
  9. The only real arguments I can think of against this are: 1) Something changed with how much payroll the Ricketts were willing to give Theo between the time he signed Yu and now Does this sound familiar to anybody else? I feel like some offseason there was thought of us having all this money to spend and then all a sudden we were broke because of X(renovations?) Are you thinking of the Tanaka money that was not spent that off-season but 'saved for later' after they didn't get him?

  11. I can't convince myself that any of these teams are going to sign him
  12. You can say we got Trevathan in this made up trade as well, that helps a little.
  13. I don't know what is going on, but I'm starting to become a conspiracy theorist. All the stories last off-season were about the teams that were re-setting their luxury tax, or making sure they don't go into it so they could be prepared to go wild this off-season, and now crickets. Some fun luxury tax facts - - Last year was the first year the Yankees didn't pay in its existence (since 2003) - Last year was the lowest total for all teams since the first year (2018 14,337,188 - 2003 11,798,357) - The Yankees have paid about %62 of the total tax collected - The Yankees and Dodgers combined have paid %89 of it - The single most paid by a team is $43,567,472 by the 2015 Dodgers
  14. There will be too much excitement over the announcement of Ian Happ's true crime podcast for negativity https://www.instagram.com/p/BsWpLrdA4p7/
  15. I wonder how many people that paid $125 for the privilege to be there will be asking about the cubs lack of money next weekend.
  16. https://www.bleachernation.com/2019/01/03/pundit-suggests-a-6-per-month-fee-for-a-new-cubs-network-theres-actually-a-lot-to-unpack-there/ If they're charging $6 a month I better be seeing Bryce Harper on there
  17. 538 gives us the highest win probability of the weekend. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2018-nfl-predictions/games/
  18. The Broncos played Brock Osweiler instead of him that year, which created the unstoppable monster that is Brock Osweiler versus the Bears.
  19. I'm starting to feel confident about snagging that bye. We just saw that 49ers team has some fight.
  20. [tweet] [/tweet] I still find it crazy that the biggest loss was 7 points and they technically ended that game at the 1 yard line.

  22. There's a lot of "fun" stats when you look at what his climb up the all time Bears passing stats will be. He's 37 TDs away from 3rd, will take a couple of more years after that to take down Luckman and Cutler though. Only 1,001 yards from entering the top 10 and 66 from catching Kyle Orton for 16th. 54 more completions away from Rex Grossman and entering the top 10 there.
  23. Just looking at basic stuff, Mitch's 2018 is at 8th in completions 9th in yards 5th in TDs
