  1. 2 base hits & the wheels are coming off?? Maybe you should cut out watching so much Oprah!
  2. Their SP has looked pretty good to me so far this series. No one wants Thome & his contract!
  3. I was thinking the same thing! Was Jerry watching Mascara Man highlights before the game?
  4. Sort of. Wow, you complain over an rbi. I just had an arguement how I hate people being optimistic about this team, but, jeez bash someone for a rbi. If you were being sarcastic/joking, scratch my comment. Lawton & Barrett failed to do their job that inning, not Macias.
  5. BREAKING NEWS! Uh oh. We've never seen him before. This could be really bad... :-& Yeah, no reason to like back-to back winning seasons for the 1st time in 35 years! [-X

  7. Yes I was assuming 100% health for all teams. BTW, As a Cards fan you should be concerned with the durability of Carpenter over the course of a season & into the playoffs, IIRC he has never pitched in the post-season. Mulder helps, but Haren is better. Morris, in my opinion, doesn't have shut-down playoff stuff. If Mulder is on top of his game then he has the potential to shut down a prolific offense in the playoffs. However, that is a big if. The Cards offense is as good as anyone in the ML, & as the 2004 WS showed, good pitching beats good hitting everytime in the playoffs. Also, the 2004 Cardinals had a stronger bullpen than this years' Cards. BTW, I voted the Astros. Clemens,Pettitte,Oswalt & Lidge could do some real damage in a 7 game series.
  8. the negativity & pessimism in this game thread is too much for me. I'm out! True Cub fans are optimists!
  9. True. He is hittible. He is also 5-9 with 5.45 ERA. Or in other words, he will own the Cubs. Guess I was right :o His ERA is in the low 2's in his last 4 starts.
  10. IIRC, Padilla has been on the DL most of the year. small sample size
  11. I bet they liked that GS he hit in St.Louis I bet they all did too. While I did enjoyed that, Neifi is not your everyday starter, no matter what. Plus, sometimes a blind squirrel finds an apricot. Neifi just suck baows. & he wasn't signed as an everday SS, some here tend to forget that. He is one of the best back-up SS's in the ML's
  12. I bet they liked that GS he hit in St.Louis
  13. I'd prefer Aram to hit clean-up over Burnitz, but I'm not that opposed to it, either.
  14. JHJR better have a good week or he may be relegated back to the bench with either Murton or CPatt taking over an OF spot.
  15. With Padilla,Tejada & Myers going for the Phils in this series I don't expect Dusty to start Murton. We shall see. He has been the Cubs best hitter the last week or so.

  17. If you could take one team & put them into the post-season. In your opinion who has the best chance of winning it all?
  18. Kruk just called the Braves the biggest winner at the deadline because of their acquisition of Farnsworth. Kruk also said RJ would win 30 games this year. Point: Kruk has 0 credibility
