At this point, even if the Cardinals take 3 out of 4 from the Cubs, I'm going to be more concerned that the Cubs will likely be 1 game behind the Brewers than 3 games ahead of the Cardinals with 12 to play. Still, I hope the Cubs don't think that way. When you have a chance to put a team away, you do it without hesitation. I guess all we can do is keep winning, and hope the Brewers don't get ungodly hot like they were at the start of the year.

I would love nothing more than to put the dagger in the Cardinals for the year, much like when we won 4 of 5 from them in Wrigley in September 2003. I hope this series is much like that one. The Cardinals are like the serial killer in a horror movie. If you don't put the bullet in them when you have the chance, they're going to rise up and get you right at the end. If we don't put them away this series, I'm afraid of them the rest of the way.

I'm not tipping my cap to Hendry for anything, and I pray he's not allowed anywhere near this team next year. We're only in first place because the other five teams in this division have so far sucked worse than we have.

I think Trachsel would be good in mop up duty in a blowout just to save the bullpen, but he shouldn't be in critical game situations any more in 2007.

That's pretty much his last start. this is the cubs, they're incompetent... i won't believe that it's his last start until the season is over and he hasn't started another game Piniella does seem to have half a brain. I just hope he isn't seduced by this game into giving Trachsel more starts. And is there any official word on Marshall? Marshall is pitching in the double header. Fred, do you have Marshall's stats after pitching on 3 weeks rest? :lol:

Nashville might be good, too. What about OKC? Or isn't the surrounding metro area big enough for baseball? I know the Hornets in the NBA did very well there.

Oh how I would love that...I'd be putting my Nevada liscense to use a LOT more often.... I don't think any of the four major sports will ever have a team in Vegas. Even if you ban betting on the games they play in, fixing games would still be way too easy.

Prediction: Traschel gets bombed, Cubs lose, but we don't see Steve on the mound again in 2007, so it may be worth it.

Have you heard Stone on WSCR? He would probably be the worst GM. Have you seen some of the actions of current GMs? Granted Littlefield is gone now, but Jim Bowden and Wayne Krivsky are still gainfully employed. Whoever's running Baltimore now too.(Duquette? though whoever it is, I'd blame Angelos more than anyone else.) Isn't Andy MacPhail the Baltimore GM?
