    I think a good pinch-hitter off the bench is an extremely undervalued commodity these days. Look at what Ward did for us last year, and what PH's like Glenallen Hill did for us in the past. Those are very valuable members of the team.

The Cubs could somehow invent a time machine, go back and kidnap the 1927 Yankees, bring them to today, start every single one of them, and they'd still underperform, simply because they were Cubs.

    Does the style of play in Japan allow for breakup slides? I know they have that whole cultural politeness thing. I don't care about how they play in China or whatever. Last time I checked, this is Amurrrca. We slide feet and shoulders first here. I know you're being sarcastic, but it may just be Fuku has to adjust to doing something he might not have had to do before.
