  1. Sounds like they finally fixed that "100 years since the Cubs last pennant" commercial. I don't even know how that a) got made, and b) remained unfixed for so long.
  2. Three or four more starts like this and he'd be a damn fool not to.
  3. I remember someone posted that .gif and the "dramatic hamster" next to each other in one of the playoff threads. After about the 7th or 8th time they synched up perfectly.
  4. And the hit parade continues. Something is wrong with Lilly. Either that or the league has finally figured him out in year two.
  5. At least we look better against the Phils than we do against the Marlins. If this were the Fish, this game would be about 9-0 right now. Friggin Hamels doubles. I hate you, Ted Lilly.
  6. Victorino doing his Hollandsworth imitation to rob DeRo
  7. Aram also flies to the track. 1 down. These are gonna start going over the fence if we keep hitting them.
  8. Take a bad route on it and fall as you catch it? It's worked for Jim Edmonds all these years. The end result was he caught the baseball. Cedeno didn't. That's what I was getting at.
  9. See, Ronny? THAT'S how you're supposed to catch a baseball.
  10. I shudder to think how far it'll go once Burrell hits it.
  11. About the chance that Scarlett Johansen will come to my door during the game and announce her undying love for me.
  12. I know we'll never truly know, but I wish we could have seen the old-time great players (Wagner, Cobb, Ruth, etc) in some of the bandboxes of today. Could you imagine Babe Ruth in Coors Field? I'd give a week's pay to see that game.
  13. I can't believe how big the foul territory is in that park. Sweet mother of God.
  14. I hadn't heard about the Baldelli diagnosis. What was it? Per Rotoworld on March 12: Rocco Baldelli will be sidelined indefinitely due to metabolic and/or mitochondrial abnormalities that leave him feeling extremely fatigued after even brief workouts. Baldelli was on the verge of tears several times while discussing the details of what he called a life-threatening condition. "As far as my baseball career I'm not here to stand in front of you telling you I'm retiring,'' Baldelli said. "We're still going pursue any avenue that we can to try to figure out what is going on and have a better understanding of what is going on. But at this time throughout all of the extensive testing that we've done, we don't have a concrete answer." He'll be placed on the disabled list to start the season, and his career seems in jeopardy if Doctors can't diagnose the problem. Wow. I hope doctors can find out what it is and at least treat it.
  15. If we turn around and trade Deeds for anything close to what Jon Lieber was, I think he's a good acquisition.
  16. Winner. At the time it was pretty much regarded that the Astros gave away Larry Andersen, correct? Bags wasn't much more than an average 3rd base prospect in the Red Sox system from everything I've heard.
  17. he was ranked #5 in the cubs system in the 2001 BA handbook (behind patterson, cruz, choi and ben christensen, lol) and #6 in the 2002 edition (behind prior, cruz, choi, david kelton and bobby hill). the cubs' system was very highly-rated at the time, so being the #5 or #6 prospect in the cubs system meant that the prospect was highly-regarded overall. Oh god, David Kelton? That's the first time I've heard that name in years. Whatever happened to him, anyway? Is he even still in baseball?
