  1. It'll be made up in Houston at the end of the year if it's significant to either team.
  2. 10 innings by us, anyway. Did they get any hits in the 9th inning of the game before they played us?
  3. I heard the Cubs offered to play Saturday and Sunday in Tampa. Is that true? If so, the Astros owner is an idiot for not taking them up on that. He gave the Cubs 2 extra home games.
  4. Back-to-back no-hitters would be sweet. Do it, Ted.
  5. This game thread needs to be stickied or something.
  6. I want to take my son to at least one game at Wrigley, just so he can have that feeling that I had when my dad took me for my first game.
  7. Pay up, Buddy. If he wants to, he can have her for a roll in the hay. ;) Just one, though.
  8. Hopefully he doesn't hold a 36 year grudge like Milt Pappas..holy hell does Milt not like Bruce Froehming. Froemming is the douchebag of all douchebags, but Pappas really needs to let it go.
  9. I don't remember who made the second out of the ninth, but I remember not knowing who it was at the time either, and when I saw Riot back up to play the second hop and remembered about his weak arm, I was a little worried that it may have been someone fast enough to beat the throw headed toward first. Run-on sentences are fun. Yeah, as soon as I saw it take that high hop, I said "Oh Howry" knowing Riot has a pretty weak arm, figuring it would be an infield single. Glad I was wrong.
  10. Simple question. If you had to pick your favorite between the two, which would you pick: Kerry Wood's 20 strikeout game, or Z's no-hitter?
  11. Haha, you just figured this out now? Z is a nutcase, but he's our nutcase, so we love him.
  12. I'm going to have to stop by the truck stop by the interstate tomorrow and pick up a copy of the Trib and keep it for all time. I want to show it to my unborn son when he's old enough to understand.
  13. This might be the jolt they needed to break out of that funk. Let's get win #90 tomorrow, boys!
  14. Wood's 20K game was more special, IMO. It shoulda been a no-hitter. Zambrano should have also thrown one about 5 years ago in Arizona, but got screwed out of a call. Still, I don't want to take anything away from Zambrano tonight. He was amazing! I remember that Arizona game. I was so pissed. And the Wood 20k game is still my favorite ever Cubs game. ESPN Classic will probably show this later this week, right? I'll have to DVR it and use it to keep me warm over the long winter.
  15. I remember catching the end of that game. But, what I remember is Frank Castillo taking one to 2 outs in the 9th against the Cardinals and then either Ray Lankford or Bernard Gilkey tripled to break it up.
  16. I hate UMfan. I think he's there.
  17. I thought Verlander did it in Milwaukee last year. If that's how he meant it, I retracy my statement. I took it as first ever no-hitter in Miller Park, and the Brewers weren't involved. Of course it would be the first no-hitter in Miller Park that the Brewers weren't involved in. There's only been 4 other games in that park that didn't involve the Brewers (2002 ASG and last year's Angels/Indians series)/.
  18. Hopefully that cools the Astros off.
  19. I thought Verlander did it in Milwaukee last year.
