It just seems like it would be an insult to not have Z start Game 1, seeing as he is our "ace" and is being paid ace money. Not saying that Harden wouldn't necessarily be better. I'm just thinking that Z would take it as a slap in the face.

I'm hoping Mets, but no Marlins/D-backs is fine with me. We can take anyone in the NL right now, but I'd feel way more comfortable facing the Phillies in a 7 game series than a 5 game series. Exactly. Me too. Having to face Hamels twice in a 5 game series is not cool. Why are we afraid of the Marlins? It's just a '03 thing. I don't want to see the Marlins in the playoffs. (I think we'd stomp them, but I'd rather not see them.) The Marlins killed us last year, and gave us all we could handle this year. They just have our number. I want no part of them in the postseason again.

What choice do they have? They have what 9 games left? I don't think that this is the dumbest move, but the previous overuse was stupid. You have to go for broke here because they are in a must win position. Yeah, the 3-days rest isn't that dumb. It was the prior overusage, which you really can't blame Svuem for as it wasn't his call. He's in a must-win position right now and is doing whatever it takes. This one is on Yost.

Just go longer than the Cubs game. I don't care the result as long as the Cubs win and don't clinch with a loss.

Fully agreed, that could have been one of the great threads of all time. :cray: If it would have been funny quotes, yes. But it was quickly turning into "Look! This opinion is different from mine! That means it's stupid! Hahahahahaha!! What a moron!" and nothing good would have come from it. The mods were right to lock it.

I'd trade one or the other for Cain, but not both. If I'm trading both, it's no deal unless Lincecum comes over, as well as a top prospect or two.

Good point, the HFA number is 3 cause with a 3-6 finish we wind up 95-66 while the Mets could win out and they'd be 95-67. If it was significant for the purposes of HFA, would the Houston game be played? -

Looks like a win tomorrow clinches it. This is working out nicely. I was kinda pulling for the Brewers to win the WC, though. A Cubs/Brewers NLCS would have been epic. Oh well. Go Philly so we play the Mets in the first round.
