  1. Great video! Thanks for taking the time to make all of these videos. I really enjoy them.
  2. Well he can't give it all up on just a division clinching. That sounds like something for a pennant. The ultimate prize would be naked Soto after a World Series win. You all know you want to see that.
  3. Nothing like having Ken Rosenthal talking to FOX from Wrigley while the national anthem is being sung.
  4. I'd rather them make the playoffs. This afternoon is taking forever! I've got my Cubs shirt on, ready to go.
  5. The green shirt guy behind home plate is hilarious.
  6. Did anyone else see some crop circle looking thing in the LF grass? Maybe it's to tell Braun where he's supposed to stand. Lee!!
  7. I wish my mom would stop with the unimportant stories. Don't you see there's a no-no going, woman?!
  8. Damn classless Cubs fans booing the Astros.
  9. Just follow through on the BCB link to the comments, it's right there: I guess my joke was missed. Don't worry, I got it. I found it amusing. And yay! I will def watch it Friday night.
  10. Let that be a lesson for you. Never ever listen to Jon.
  11. Len and Bob's blog has a snippet about the TV situation: Sounds like they don't even know yet.
  12. Well, the trackers posted throughout this thread were made for us by Truffle. They're top secret NSBB storm trackers.
  13. I think MLB is about 2 days behind where they should be in the decision making process.
  14. Dear God, Drayton McLane, have you ever been through a hurricane before? This isn't like that episode of The Simpsons with the hurricane, where everything is fine after the storm is over (except Flanders' house). Even the Bowl-A-Rama was fully functional hours after the storm. Yeah, it's not going to be like that.
  15. My guess is those fans don't give two craps about getting screwed out of a couple of baseball games right now. And even if they're able to play on Sunday, I think those fans will be busy, you know, cleaning up their houses and such. Seems like if these are the issues, they wouldn't wait until it's already too late to make a decision (as it is right now). Basically now they're just hoping that things will be okay enough on Sunday to play. To me, that's unacceptable. If you can find ways to get the games in, you should, even if that means moving them. Besides, let's not act like this was a last minute situation here. The storm was headed to TX all week. You'd think that in that amount of time, MLB/the Astros/whoever is running this situation would have some sort of contingency plan in case it comes.
  16. This part is pretty funny. I love how the Astros don't want to play at Busch because the Cubs could turn it into a home-field atmosphere but they're discussing Milwaukee and Atlanta as well. Like the Cub fans wouldn't outnumber Astro fans in those places as well, especially Milwaukee. Yeah, pretty much anywhere else they'd go would be a home field atmosphere for the Cubs.
  17. This seems like a dumb idea. The city won't be destroyed, but it would be stupid to try and have a baseball game just a day after a major hurricane strikes the area. When and how exactly are the Cubs supposed to fly into Houston? They'd either fly them in before the storm, thereby making the team ride out the same storm they'll be telling people to evacuate for, or they'll try and fly them in just after it passes.
  18. I don't think they'll even go to Houston. If it's supposed to make landfall very early on Saturday morning, the effects will be felt by Friday. Ike is expected to be a 115MPH storm on Friday morning and 125MPH storm by Friday night, so people will be leaving town. Whatever they do, they'll also need to consider where the storm will head after landfall. It'd suck to play the series in STL, and have the Sunday game rained out because the remnants of Ike are being felt in STL.
  19. Here's the list of the MLB teams that will be away this weekend, if they decided to do something like this: KC Mil Minnesota STL Tampa Bay Toronto ATL DC Detroit LA Cinci SF Seattle Texas And of course the Cubs
  20. That is some hard hitting journalism by the Tribune there.
  21. Hurricane Ike is currently projected to pass through Cuba for the next day or so. After that, it is supposed to head into the warm Gulf waters. The current 5 day track has it getting pretty close to Houston by Friday evening. 5 days is pretty far out, but this could have an impact on the series this weekend if it comes close to the Houston area, especially if it's a major hurricane. What would MLB do about the series this weekend if it does impact the area? Would they move the series to another location? Here's the current track: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/storm_graphics/AT09/refresh/AL0908W5_sm2+gif/025730W_sm.gif
  22. Raisin's going to run down his street naked in blue and gold paint now.
  23. Lisa: Mom, Dad! Bart's dead! http://www.duffzone.org/framegrabs/2f01/01112004111223.jpg Bart: That's right: dead serious about going to Itchy and Scratchy Land.
  24. And you forgot about Clemson losing to Alabama. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb262/wildblue6/The-Simpsons-Nelson.jpg
