    Agreed. Side note: KUers sure seem to be damn proud of being a Free State (just a side note from past visits to Lawrence). those guys were some of the cruelest bastards to lift arms in the war if you're talking about the Jayhawkers, both them and the Bushwackers were pretty rough. But the Lawrence massacre was by far the single bloodiest of the events, and it was perpetrated by Quantrill and the Bushwackers. i'm well aware of what Quantrell and his bushwhackers did, meh, im too drunk and tired to even try, lets just say i'm a southern sympathiser and call it a dAy....slavery was going to be phased out sooner than later(new technologies)...the war of northern aggression was a war over taxation without representationBefore moving away from the Chicago area, I used to laugh at this phrase and those who uttered it. Five years in GA and a little bit of real reading changed a thing or two about my perspecti--- Crap. I'm posting in a poll thread about the 1861-1865 War. Do we seriously need any more rounds of this? Please people, vote your answer to that question. FWIW, i grew up around Manassas, VA (you yanks might know it better as Bull Run) my people took the brunt of that war and the sting lingers

    Don't be - I knew whoever won between you and Cubbies75 would beat me after I barely escaped B. The only thing surprising to me is that you're the one beating me, I had always thought Cubbies75 was enormously popular on this site. It's hardly an insult to lose to a guy who can take a BP homer off the chin anyway :D i did take that like a man didnt i?
