    If this wasn't finals week, I'd be down there for at least one. Hopefully the atmosphere will be great, especially for a weekday series. Are any of your teachers Cub fans? I'm happy for the folks in Peoria and I'm happy for Nathan. This is going to be a busy yet great time for him and the rest of the organization. Looking forward to listening to the games!

    Sounds like it was a mistake to get the game going at all ... Nathan also said in the broadcast that Lee Gwaltney was promoted from Daytona to the DJaxx. Nathan is the giver of all kinds of great info!

    But don't you also think that the discussion that follows will pertain more to the major league team than the Iowa Cubs? This discussion was started as a report from an Iowa Cubs game, which is why it's in the Minor League forum. In addition, the majority of the posts discussed Corey's development in Iowa and not the effect on the Major league team.

    ha ha Hopefully we'll be able to get that interview ASAP. Having Corey in Iowa has understandably made things busier than normal in AAA, which has backed up our sessions. FWIW I was supposed to get a call from Rich Hill last week but he wasn't able to call. How cool would that have been!

    In regards to Wellemeyer, I still recall a brief conversation with Jim Hendry earlier this season in regards to Wellemeyer. Hendry said that he felt that for the Cubs to be able to make a real push late in the season they would need Wellemeyer playing well from the pen. Granted that was earlier this season, but still worth mentioning.

    Although they are Major League players, this thread started as a report from a Minor League game, which is why I moved it here. BTJ, I'm sorry that you had to witness a bad loss, but I really appreciate the fact that you took time to report the game to those of us who couldn't be there live! Thanks again!
