  1. terrible call to end the inning
  2. I'm here! Come on Greenberg!
  3. RISP for Patterson!
  4. This video feed is nice. I gotta jet for awhile. Hopefully the Jaxx will be up when I get back!
  5. I posted this link in tonight's box score, but here's a link on MiLB.com for complete coverage of the SL Championship Series. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/events/playoffs/y2005/news.jsp?lid=l111
  6. In addition to the highest average in the playoffs, the pitchers are throwing a 1.75 ERA with 34 K's in 36 IP
  7. MiLB.com has a page set up for complete coverage of the SL Championship Series: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/events/playoffs/y2005/news.jsp?lid=l111 That page also has links for statistics. The Jaxx are hitting .291 as a team in the playoffs 8)
  8. Here's the Link to the first shout out from Len.
  9. If memory serves correctly, the last time a shout was given it really didn't add a jump to the number of people logged on, but it did fire everyone up. I agree with what you're saying, but my thought process is that there are very knowledged fans out there that still do not know about NSBB. I'm a fan of quality and not quantity, but there are people not on NSBB that could make very valuable contributions. In addition, I personally view a shout out as a mark of what we've accomplished and not so much what we're trying to become. I do agree with your assessment of the quality of posts on the board. I've said more than once that it is the quality of the site which has opened up the opportunities that we are enjoying in regards to our guests.
  10. If someone has a friend or family member that was there they would have a little bit of insight but I didn't have any visual or audio to go with.
  11. The game was blacked out so I didn't see it :(
  12. And we get numbed by the multi-million dollar contracts, but even 2 weeks of leaugue minimum looks like big money to a young family man like Ryan. Agreed. Good for Ryan!
  13. The question and answer session has been edited and forwarded to Len! Once Len has an opportunity to answer the questions his responses will be posted in this thread. Thank you to Len for taking time out of his schedule to answer our questions and for registering here at NSBB! In addition, thank you to all of you for making NSBB such a wonderful posting community!
  14. And oh yeah, the Jaxx are unbeaten since Ron shaved his head
  15. Greetings Len. Thank you again for the earlier shout out and for doing this session! We're happy yo have you here at NSBB! When you posted on the WGN blog that you had been mistaken for yourself on cubs.com and confirmed on your blog that it was you, many of us here at NSBB made it a point to post invitations for you to join us here at NSBB. Is that what brought you here to NSBB or were you already reading the boards? What is your impression of the site? We've had several sessions in the past few months and I always enjoy asking guys about sports memorabilia. Do you collect memorabilia? Have you ever used your accessibility to the players as a broadcaster to add to your collection? If so, can I ask what it was? In addition, what's it really like having such a cool job? I know how much work it involves to call a game, but hard work and preparation aside, how cool is it? Thank you for everything that you're doing! Keep up the great work!
  16. Eric is showing why he's the NSBB Player of the Year and Brandon is showing us what he thinks about not getting the award! ha ha
  17. It's time for everyone to chill. Feel free to discuss the game, though.
  18. Actually I didn't hear much. I guess we overloaded their system! Did you see that Theriot got an AB tonight?
  19. *sigh* Nice laydown. I'll take that to mean you concede the point. FWIW, I don't have anything against Theriot. I'm thrilled for the kid. I just think it's hilarious when people are pining for Dusty to play every mediocre non-prospect in the system. (Obviously, the Cubs should have Murton out there every day) Also, I think it's a bit hypocritcal for people to be frustrated by Dusty's refusal to play kids, while at once not finding fault in that same kid's failure to get a bunt down. If you didn't "expect" him to get the bunt down when he was sent to the plate -- like you would if it were Perez/Patterson/etc. -- how can you fault Dusty for thinking likewise? Laydown huh? Thanks.
  20. Agreed. An 8 pitch AB is impressive. When you take into consideration that he was playing in AA last Friday night and it was his first MLB AB it's really impressive. There's no way that Corey Patterson striking out in that situation can be compared to a guy's first MLB AB.
