Oh god we're stuck with Piniella, With 3-stinking years, At least Hendry may be leaving, To go promote some beers. Why didnt we get Girardi? Was Hendry on Bacardi? I hope he gets dropped-kicked by someone by the name of Jeff Hardy.
... Just want to see what NSBB thinks. I have no clue, because us expected Girardi.. and in the topics most people favored Lou. Bochy and Brenly were also mentioned often.
Back to Lou Piniella.. I think it's a good signing. He was my #2 guy behind Girardi. I still think Cubs are idiots for not getting Girardi.. but why does my opinion matter? At least the hitting coach isnt coming back...
Yeah, shame on them for talking about the best football team the city has had in twenty years - and the best baseball team in nearly a century (not to mention one that makes them millions of dollars for airing their games.) Does it still hurt them to mention the Cubs, here and there?
Piniella was not my first choice. But I'll give him a chance. Of course if the Cubs pull a 180 next season that stat monkee's will be hard at work spinning the fact that Lou deserve's no credit whatsoever. If the Cubs pull a 180 next season, it will be because the team has a lot of better players than they did this season, and because they didn't get injured at the rate they have been over the last three years. It will not be because of anything Lou did - unless he's savvy enough to bat a Murton second as opposed to a Cedeno/Bynum. And they will have a 180 million payroll.
