  1. Just to let everybody know... The last time I went to a game (6/29/05) the Cubs won 2-3 on a walk-off single by Hollandsworth.. Then they lost 8 straight. So get ready.
  2. *rips Mark Prior poster off of wall* yeah, I've had it.
  3. Yeah.. Hopefully their timings (or lack thereof) will be good.
  4. I will be at this game.. so lets have a win! Cincinatti Reds Vs. Carlos Zambrano http://i17.tinypic.com/42strbr.jpg Chicago Cubs Vs. Aaron Harang http://i12.tinypic.com/4855lyx.jpg
  5. Well what the heck has he been doing the last 2 weeks? Exactly what I'm wondering..
  6. What about Thursday? Depends... it should be dry by the afternoon except for maybe a leftover snow shower or flurry, but temps will be right around 40 and with the wind, it'll feel like upper 20s. Not a nice day for baseball, and I guess it's possible that the game could get called b/c of cold, but there will be a chance to play Thursday afternoon if they choose to. Wednesday - not so much. What about Friday? I might be going to that game.
  7. Gerald Perry really could've helped him. Oh well..
  8. Sorry about the late match-ups... Fell asleep. Houston Astros Vs. Rich Hill http://i10.tinypic.com/2nl66mf.jpg Nothing special here. Chicago Cubs Vs. Wandy Rodriguez http://i19.tinypic.com/2yo21oz.jpg Murton and Lee look good... So does Marquis. Barrett and Ramirez? Not so much... Again, please dont lose to a dude named "Wandy."
  9. It's bad to open multiple tabs at once.
  10. I wonder if Hank Aaron goes fishing..
  11. Looks like Lou will have to talk to the team about patience, again.
  12. The Under-Armour signs do stand out... At Wrigley Field. Where the Chicago Cubs (Who spent $300 million in the offseason) play.
  13. Yet, another article that doesnt fail to mention that we spent $300 mil in the off-season. We should put that at the end of every post from now on. What's he trying to prove? The Cubs, who spent $300 million dollars in the off-season are not doing so well right now.
  14. woah, bro.. im going to tell my sister the same thing about BU.. though, if anyone gets it before.. please post.. Yeah.. he just posted it for Northwestern... The code is WILDCATS for Northwestern University.
  15. There are ads on top of the dugout too. At least they aren't for Toyota. One day there's gonna be a Rain Delay brought to you by Aquafina Drinking Water.
  16. According to Cubs.com, Zambrano will be. They're skipping Miller this time through the order. Didnt Lou say they werent going to skip? It's not fair for the 5th guy because he can go a week w/o pitching??
  17. What was the crowd's reaction to Lou? Soriano? Jones?
  18. Marquis could have a very Glendon Rusch-like 2004.. Where his past, especially the previous season was not too pretty. Came to the Cubs, Rothschild helped him out... and he's on his way to a good record. When I looked back at Rusch's match-ups, they didnt mean much because he had improved drastically. Now in 2006, I dont want to talk about it.. but it works well for 04' and 05'.. The same case could be for Marquis..
  19. Chicago Cubs Vs. Chris Sampson (RHP) http://i15.tinypic.com/2i9kmxu.jpg Nothing special here... Not enough PAs. Houston Astros Vs. Jason Marquis (RHP) http://i17.tinypic.com/4cnb4gn.jpg ...Holy crap. Biggio looks good, Ensberg looks WAYYY dangerous... Man... Everett is okay. BERKMAN is also a nail biter. Jason Lane... The rest look okay, to say the least. A combination of these needs to happen if the Cubs want to win: -Wind blowing in, HARD. -Marquis gets good movement. -Cubs offense picks it up. Hate to be a pessimist, but it doesn't look too good. :?
  20. Roast has the next game.. and he was at the game today. Probably will start it a little late. Wonder what his reaction will be..
  21. And we're back under .500... I hate this feeling.
  22. Considering it adjusts for eras and the latest craze is to accuse anyone who played baseball between 1985 and now of steroid abuse, I'd say it does. :D Does it adjust for watching film available now of the opposing pitcher before a game?
  23. Ernie Banks is making a comeback? WHER!? Banks: .274/.330/.500 (avg/obp/slg) Sammy: .274/.345/.537 ( " " ) Banks: 512 HR Sammy: 589 HR Sosa edges Banks..not by much..but he does. Banks - played in the deadball era. Sammy - didnt. Fair enough. I was simply basing my statement on statistics. Sammy's are slightly better than Banks. Also, I didnt know we considered the 50's-70's the deadball era? I always thought that was the 20/30's? Yeah.. made a mistake.. but it was still a pitcher's era.
