  1. wow that was a bad call...he never did tag him wit the mit He was out by 15 feet. IWU is right. you must tag with the ball, not the elbow. BS. He was out by a good margin and tagged himself out by contact. Let's not get carried away in our paranoia here. The umps don't hate the Cubs. and Theriot was out by a country mile. you're wrong. he tagged him with the elbow. if you have Tivo, rewind and look at it. the throw beat him by plenty. unfortunately for your argument, it doesn't matter how much the throw beats him by, the defense still must apply the tag.
  2. wow that was a bad call...he never did tag him wit the mit He was out by 15 feet. IWU is right. you must tag with the ball, not the elbow. Biased much? asking for the rules of baseball to be applied to the game is biased? if Bowen held the ball and tripped Theriot would he be out? you have to tag with either the ball in your hand or the ball in your mitt.
  3. strikezone is completely different now.

  5. prediction. after taking a week and a half to rule on Berkman, and then doing nothing to him for his second ejection the day after the suspension was announced and doing nothing to the Braves for their actions.... the league will suspend DLee for at least 7 and will do it before the close of business on Monday. whoever said Theriot was never tagged was 100% correct.
  6. first time in a week that Quade is aggressive. he picked the wrong time.
  7. I didn't see it. What did he do? he was quoted as saying he would bean the next guy for Soriano walking to first after his dinger yesterday.
  8. No. It's Soriano's fault for hitting HRs. Just like it was his fault in Atlanta. he walked to first base. how he isn't partially to blame in everyone's eyes is beyond me.
  9. why are you so intent in defending young? I'm not defending Young, I'm just looking at it from an objective perspective and Lee looks like the bad guy in this one. No he doesn't Lee was the first one to throw a punch. if there was nothing racial said, it's Lee's fault, plain and simple. Young hit him on purpose! You have to believe it considering what the Padres said in the paper yesterday. They threatened to bean someone. it's freakin baseball. beanballs are the way wrongs are settled in baseball. that is why the umps action in Atlanta blew the entire thing. they didn't let the players settle it the way players have settled if for the past 150 years. joe morgan everybody! lame. probably as lame as it gets. why not call me Ron Santo? he has the same view on the subject.
  10. Where was the Catcher in all this? I can't believe nobody walked down the first base line with Lee. arguing with the ump for some inexplicable reason.

I'm not defending Young, I'm just looking at it from an objective perspective and Lee looks like the bad guy in this one. bad guy? he almost took a ball to the head, after the atlanta series and what peavy said i can't blame him for getting in young's face and taking a swing at him. nice idealism on the concept of manhood there. winning the game is the payback we are after.

  14. take him out Izturis you worthless sack.
  15. what the hell was Bowen arguing about anyway?
  16. punches were thrown, but no one got hit til Z took his belt off. he'll probably be ejected and suspended for that.
  17. I complain about the umps more than anyone, but that was a strike. pure 10-6. we all were waiting for it to break into Pie, but it didn't.
  18. There was little he could do. He was out he could give the catcher the opportunity to throw the ball into right field.
  19. alright, at a minimum, use another 20 pitches here Cubs.
