  1. most annoying commercial anywhere IMO. its always relative because the most annoying commercial always seems to be what is on right now. for me right now its every commercial, promo, cut away, seque, etc. for ESPN 50*50 where they play that really lame song by Bryan Adams (is it Bryan Adams? if so, nice to have a Canadian singing the theme song for the series about the 50 states)
  2. STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Dusty Baker just made the correct move by insering two rookies.
  3. unreal. I will iterate that this doesn't change the fact that Neifi Perez sucks. ROAST!!! Please resize those photos.
  4. c'mon Bill Miller. give me a break on that strike one call.
  5. I think you need runners on 1st and 2nd at least for the infield fly rule to be in effect You are correct. I just looked it up. doh. even if there were two on, I'm not sure the infield fly rule is called there because of the things I mentioned.
  6. Vizquel had to go a ways into the outfield. not a routine play and not on the infield.
  7. three things re: Hill's base running, to me failing to tag up on Lee's liner to left was alot more of a gaff than stumbling on the bases. for some reason he started running toward home and by the time he was back to third it was too late. way to give Schmidt an extra inning there Dusty. brilliant. Bill Miller is dictating this game with his umpiring.
  8. Barrett has had nothing to do with the success of any of the 4 steal attempts.
  9. something tells me we might get what everyone keeps wishing for, and regret it. for as bad as he was closing for us, Hawkins was and is a good pitcher.
  10. I agree the baserunning mistakes were bad, but fair umpiring and the score is tied 2-2 minimum. Mitre is officially NOT a relief pitcher.
  11. At least 50 more in him tonight. so at the rate the Cubs take pitches, Schmidt will go 26 1/3 innings tonight.
  12. add standing at the plate and umpiring on a ball that was inches from being fair to the long list of reasons to hate Neifi Perez.
  13. probably a call that could have gone either way. guess which way it went.
  14. commence with the obvious references.
  15. 29 pitches in the third. that blown call on 3-0 to Neifi is probably going to cost us this game (along with the rookies baserunning mistakes)
  16. how many charity stikes does Jason Schmidt need tonight? the 3-1 to Walker makes at least 4 by my count.
  17. nice AB Macias (Holla, Neifi). way to know your role. nothing like 13 pitches to get 5 outs.
  18. It's been that way since the start of last year. I'm also tired of getting dominated by the people with the 6+ ERA's who look like 20 game winners when they face us. I'm also sick of having to rely on the homer to score because they can't string more than a few hits together at a time. I'm also tired of seeing Hollandworth in left and Neifi at short while Murton and Cedeno rot on the bench. I'm also tired of this team not taking walks. I'm quite tired of Dusty not being aggressive. You'd NEVER see him call for suicide squeeze like LaRussa did the other night. I'm also tired of being sick and tired of this team. I'm tired of desparate strikezones.
  19. a bad strike call to set up Aram Hollandworth hacking early in the count as always Neifi hacking early in the count as always (first AB tonight the rare exception) and there's your 8 pitch inning.
  20. unless Schmidt needs to be bailed out on a 3-0 to Neifi. in that scenerio it's chin strikes. nose to toes strikezone ladies and gentleman.
  21. Not at Wrigley it isn't. Not at most ball parks in fact. I don't care where it is. If a fan wants to keep a homerun ball the other fans shouldn't try to pressure or threaten him to throw it back. Then dont go to Wrigley. Every place has its traditions and pressures. define tradition. I don't think the Bleacher Bums have been doing that more than 10-12 years now. They probably haven't been drinking heavily in the outfield for more than the last few years either. not sure what you are saying. are you saying I'm wrong, because I'm not. drinking heavily is a Wrigley tradition that goes back several decades. throwing the ball back is maybe a decade old.

  23. you forgot to mention two fluke, bloop hits to give the Giants a run and now add to that a bail out swing resulting in the ball leaving the yard, and now yet another error for Aram.
  24. in case there were any doubters still, there's a perfect example of how one bad strike call can completely change the game. sure would be nice to be up 2-1 with Aram up with the bases loaded. Trivia question-I think its George Brett.
