  1. Game thread is is prone to overreaction and hyperbole. This is the first time the team has been relatively healthy in a long time. They may need a few weeks to get the train moving. If in two weeks they are still playing at a sub .300 win pace, it’s time to move your chess pieces and make adjustments to the completion of this team.
  2. He always starts when Steele is pitching.
  3. I’ve never been accused of being an optimist, but I think the team is turning or already has turned the corner in terms of the offense. They’ve hit the ball well. They will start producing more soon. I’m not a huge Dansby fan and was pretty skeptical of the signing, but this is who he is. He’s a streaky hitter. It would be nice if he’d start a hot streak. I think June is going to be kind and then we will be talking about which prospects we don’t want to trade for Alonso.
  4. I don’t want the Cubs to win these games. I want them to blow out the Cardinals at home.
  5. Greed appears to be a fundamental behavioral characteristic of humanity, if not of individual humans.
  6. It was. And it was predictable. They have too many Guardians and no chiefs that’s fine if everyone is getting on base. The injuries have hurt a lot and there is plenty of time to turn it around, but they have to be a team that is selectively aggressive and not what they are now. They do not have enough slugging and hoping on Busch was not smart. They need to go after a slugger like Alonso or even Vald. Suzuki, Belli, and Happ to have better results and start hitting line drives. It’s not time to panic. It’s time to grind out ABs. horsefeathers filter changes I n d I a n s to Guardians
  7. Braves announcers absolutely gushing about how great Wrigley is. They are not wrong.
  8. Hendricks is likely going to be very useful one time through the order.
  9. Didn’t really matter with Gas Can Cuas pitching
  10. I don’t think Counsell has done many things I disagree with, but starting Madrigal tonight was one.
  11. I’m so damn sick of the umpires missing calls.
  12. TDIL that the 10 year mark also applied to managers, coaches, and trainers for getting fully vested in a pension program. I wonder if Dusty gets a double pension.
  13. With Chavez's rubber arm, you never know. He might pitch until he's 50 with the braves.
  14. Yes, it's a bit of a double edged sword with Little. His delivery funk helps him hide the ball and probably generate movement, but it comes at the price of a lack of repeatability and volatility on any given night. It's that ability to harness funk that makes a guy usable. Marmol didn't have a funky delivery per se, but his slider was about the best I've ever seen with late movement. It wasn't until he learned to throw strikes with his fastball that he became a good/great relief pitcher.
  15. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I woke this AM
