    he's definitely not as bad as he was earlier this year, but I still don't like how his power has evaporated. He sure as crap isn't an OBP machine, so the biggest benefit was that you could rely on him for somewhere around 25 HRs and roughly a .175-.200 IsoP. If he can't start hitting for power, that bat is going to be awfully anemic with a more normal BABIP.

    That's why I'm a little disappointed that we face them to end the season in what could be very big games. I'll be there for at least one of those games. yeah i still remember how they (and latroy) crapped all over our 2004 team in september

    I'd have no problem dealing Hill or Marshall if it netted a significant upgrade at C, SS, CF or RF. A 5th starter is only valuable for the balance of the regular season. I agree that Gallagher is a bit raw, but in my opinion the difference between an impact bat vs. one of the holes over the next eight weeks is greater than the difference between Hill/Marshall and Gallagher. A weak 5th starter might tax the pen a bit, but you've got Sept. callups to offset that some. yeah but not only are you opening a hole on this year's team, you're also trading away a young, cheap, productive pitcher who has significant value in future years.

    Which team in the running for the wild card concerns you the most? This assumes that the Dodgers and Mets win their divisions. I didn't make this a "who wins the NL Wild Card" poll because then everyone would just vote for the Cubs.

    Laird had a .361 BABIP last season.... hence the good numbers. His PECOTA projections peg him at around a .320 OBP/.750 OPS over the next few years, but I think they might be a little high. If he could be had for cheap I'd take him, but really, what's the point of all this when we have a decent option in the minors?

    i love how the cubs convinced themselves that trading for kendall was a good idea, and now four games into his cub career they've already decided that he's washed up. I have A.D.D., and I'm way more consistent in my thought process than the boobs that run this organization.
