  1. or last year's draft for that matter Just shows what an idiot he is. i guess he can just say that b.s. on the air because most fans have no idea how the prospects that were drafted are doing. Most fans will just hear that and believe him.
  2. i'd prefer that they stop talking about zambrano never getting hurt... sounds like a jinx waiting to happen
  3. well looks like rich better throw a gem
  4. this bum's fastball is really only in the 85-87 mph range?
  5. okay if we cant hit blooper, then we'll know rich is cursed for run support
  6. i like maybin a lot, but i think this is rushing him quite a bit
  7. Yeah, in the past as in 2003 or earlier
  8. i still think the brewers are the best team on paper in the NL central, but the cards are the luckiest team. So I really dunno.... I answered the Brewers, but they've been playing like crap for some reason.
  9. I agree with most of what you've written, but this part I disagree with... a lot of people think he'll at least an average-fielding third baseman. I very much do agree with the argument that the Cubs can't be trusted to develop a high school draftee, given their lack of success with Montanez, Harvey, Dopirak... going back to Corey Patterson actually. And, regardless of the Cubs ineptitude of developing position players, Vitters has a higher bust potential than a polished hitter like Wieters. That was last year... the guys is destroying the PCL this year, so there's a good chance that evaluations of him have changed.
  10. Uh, who is going to testify to sealed grand jury testimony? nobody... if Schilling is being sued for defamation of Bonds' character, he can use Bonds' own grand jury testimony to show that he indeed did use steroids.
  11. I gave jones plenty of chances, and at this point he's the best option that the cubs have in CF. But that's saying more about the condition of their CF situation than about jock. He was fine at 2006 production, but this year he's been lousy.
  12. holy cross... the patriot league is ours this year
  13. 8 strikeouts in 50 games is pretty ridiculous. Keep it up Steve.
  14. who cares, do 'em at the same time
  15. i doubt it... you don't give people on this board enough credit.
  16. jock is a horrible hitter versus LHP, his splits this year are a complete fluke. He has improved, but he still hasn't shown much power, so i'm not optimistic about him the rest of this year, or next year for that matter.
  17. The Cubs believed Wieters would have commanded a major league contract and they weren't willing to give him that - it was one of the main reasons they passed on him. but he didn't command a major league contract. I don't really care what the reason is, the Cubs passed on the best hitter in the draft, and that pisses me off. It's not like they passed on a Prior for Brazleton. Vitters wasn't rated much lower than Wieters, and was rated as better by some. that's fine... those "some" are wrong though
  18. schilling can defend himself by showing grand jury testimony that bonds used roids. Kinda puts a dent in your lawsuit when you've already admitted to what the other guys says you did.

  20. i feel somewhat embarrassed that the cubs are in the playoff hunt
