    Got through the inning w/o giving up a run...he's the best starter we've had all year so far!

    It may have been mentioned elsewhere...and its only kind of indirectly attributable to Lou...but I really liked Trammel's comments during yesterday's game about how the pitchers giving up walks was unacceptable....that was very refreshing to hear...now if they can only get performances to reflect that.

    I vote for Fonzie to be the official nickname for Soriano...not only because of the Happy Day's tie in...but mainly because my 2 year old can't say "Alphonso Soriano" so when I ask him who his favorite player is he says "Fonzie"

    Its so hard to judge right now...just on ST stats alone he's ahead of Soriano....I think the real question with Sammy is whether he's staying on the plate and if his bat speed is there.

    Yeah...I agree...we're not out of the woods yet...but I'm much more optimistic about it now than I was a month ago...it seems there is some pressure on MLB being generated, both by fans and the Govt...and with the Cable companies reportedly making an offer that is a financial equivalent....well, they may be hard pressed to piss that many people off.

    In a rational world, those concerns would have begun the minute they named Looper as their #4 starter. Yeah, but this is St. Louis...there is still scattered talk of Rick Ankiel winning 15 games this year. Wow, I thought Ankiel was an outfielder now. He is.
