    I really hope they work out a long term deal with Bryant over the offseason so he can start the season with the team. Maybe Russell, too. Then if Alcantara comes up this year, that would give them 4 guys (those 3 plus Soler) who wouldn't have service time concerns. Scott Boras is Bryant's agent. You know he won't allow his clients to get lowballed like that. I would think immediate financial security outweighs striking while the iron is hot in 6 years when you're an unproven commodity. There would be a lot more Evan Longoria, Jon Singleton type deals if this were true.

    People bring that up all the time, but I'm just not sure it will ever happen. It would take football becoming immensely less popular because of danger or something and even then, most of the guys that I feel like would be the best soccer players are generally basketball players... And basketball doesn't seem likely to lose popularity any time soon. This already might be happening.
